Magnetawan River Resort

Absolutely stunning park! My 6 year old and I had a fabulous time kayaking up the magnetawan river from the resort. The views are breathtaking in all directions. Fantastic owner, the seasonals are a delight and make you feel very welcome. Made some great new friends!! They have showers, laundry, a rec hall with pool table, air hockey and darts. My boys really enjoyed the playground and the beach. Beautiful spot!Was very disappointed in a few of the other visitors that stayed this week and they’re complete disregard for nature as they deliberately drove over the grass and created ruts. Must be so hard to keep the park beautiful when people do not respect it as they’re own. Can’t wait to visit again, I wouldn’t change a thing!

We just returned from a nice relaxing week here. Rob and Taylor were so friendly and helpful. They always made time to answering any questions we had and made time to chat with us and our kids and vist our pup when we were out and about.Our site was clean and tidy, and so was the beach area. There was excellent fishing right off the boat dock, where we all were able to catch some bass. And a dog beach area as well, even though our dog was welcomed everywhere.All of the seasonal campers were friendly and welcoming as well.They have boat rentals right there and the view from the boat was amazing! Such a beautiful area to spend a week together.Both of my kids said they give this place a 5 star rating, and they would like to return again! From swimming and catching snakes and frogs, to the boat ride and fishing, they had the best time! Even our dog was relaxed and on vacation himself.We definitely hope to return one day.Thanks Rob and Taylor for the great stay!

Absolutely stunning scenery! The owners are down-to-earth, pleasant & driven to succeed! This campground is a smaller, quaint, peaceful spot to settle in & enjoy your summer! Rob & Taylor have moved mountains ($$$) to continuously improve the campground & the overall vibe of the campground! They took on the monster task of a campground that had been left in disrepair & was totally run down, before they purchased it 2yrs ago.New faces & faces who've built decades of memories here, are building new relationships. The beach is beautiful with a brand new huge load of soft sand for the children to play in, the sites are a great size, the water is lovely & they are VERY dog-friendly here! Lots of new plans in the works & we can't wait to pull up our sleeves, be a part of it & make our own memories here for years to come!Very happy campers, Jenn & Sean ;-)

When we were in our way to campgrounds Taylor called to ask if we were still coming amd when we would arrive thought that was nice. But hind site has me thinking otherwise. Unfortunately the campground has had some rain before we arrived and the place was swamped when we arrived our friends were told to leave there truck parked so as not to do any more damage to the grounds and sewers than the previous occupant had made. ( could smell the sewers) also could not get close enough to hook in to sewer system. We had booked for 4 days and due to the overall wetness decided to leave a day early. We had booked another 3 days for the trip home but due to the weather decided not to come back. Informed them of our intentions via email thinking they may offer a partial refund. They didn’t have the courtesy to even acknowledge the email. I will not recommend them. They may be new to the business but not a good way to get returning customers

We booked back in February for 2 same size RVs for a one night stop on our cross Canada trip and prepaid fully. Our reservation was for one full hookup and one partial hookup, although they only have one price regardless. We did get a reminder email a couple of days in advance. On arrival, we were met by Rob who is very nice and friendly and in the office by Taylor, also nice and friendly, however, her first comment was that they didn’t have any sites available. Meanwhile, Rob was walking my husband around to find a suitable make shift location to park. They determined a grassy location where one RV backed up to the river and the second RV backed in front of the first. We had water hookup but only 15 amp power, of which one of the power didn’t work. While the spot was adequate for a one nighter and it was peaceful to sit on the river for a relaxation after driving, the cost is astronomical and no compensation was offered for the make shift situation. Given our extensive travel experience in both Canada and USA over the past 10+ years, this is the first experience of being charged so much for so little and not having our reservation confirmation met or compensated accordingly for inability to be met. For that reason, I cannot recommend this location.

We were a group of 18 people rented out 4 cabins for 3 nights. The river is very beautiful. The amentias were also outstanding. The owner Rob was very professional, courteous, and friendly. My girlfriend sprained her ankle the first night and the next day he gave us a tensor bandage to help support her ankle. He went out of his way to help us out. He is also on top of everything when it comes to servicing all his clients in regards to any issue. 5/5. Awesome stay!

The park has new owners as of April 2020. My husband has been at this park for over 40 years and won’t me almost 20. We love the area so much we built a cottage in the area. We kept the trailer at the park as we have so many friends there. We decided this year to sell the trailer as we are spending more time at the cottage. The new owner Rob has given us nothing but a hard time in regards to selling the trailer and finally moving it out. He actually accused us of sneaking people in to see the trailer while it was on site. Moving day our trailer ended up unplugged so all the food we had in the fridge spoiled. We cleaned up the site and left. While my husband was up recently visiting a friend at the park Rob came over and spoke to my husband. My husband commented that it looked like he was renting our site out to other people ( we paid in full for the 2020 season). My husband mentioned that we were going to purchase a smaller trailer that we could pull easier (for travel through out Ontario) and that we would be back some weekends at our site. Rob told my husband that it was no longer our site and then he sent us a email telling us to stay off the property or he would have us charged with trespassing. This is the worst park owner attitude I have ever seen. Rob has done the same to others that did not bow down to his demands. DON’T PATRONIZE THIS PARK. With his attitude I am glad we are gone

I am so disappointed with this place. My elderly father has spent time here before and looked forward to going again, but this year he had to cancel as he sustained an injury and is unable travel (he’s 88 years old!). He also planned on cancelling as he was heading further north to see his grandson and with the fires burning, there are extreme air quality warnings in affect. The camp he booked up further is also closed due to the fires.The owners were rude to him on the phone, and refused even a partial refund when he canceled a week in advanceI find this to be very poor customer service and I’m extremely disappointed in the way in which they spoke too and treated my father, and at minimum even a partial refund in such circumstances should have been given, and out of common curtesy they should treated him with dignity and respect

The owners Rob and Taylor are very nice. The fishing is always great and it’s a friendly quiet park. They have made some great improvements to some of their cabins, but unfortunately the main washrooms and recreation hall were out of service and we were not informed of this when we booked. Lots of smaller tasks still need to be completed in the park and the docking is still pretty rough. Not sure if we will return, we may want to fish another area and owners are not sure if they will continue with transient sites or make the whole park seasonal. Overall we enjoyed our stay!
