Monga Fried Chicken (Richmond Hill)
The chicken was good. The skin/breading is crispy and oil doesn’t get through the white bag which makes it nice to hold.I ordered the salt and pepper original and the flavor was good though I wish there was more seasoning/juice in the meat itself. The chicken isn’t dry but not as juicy as other places. The portion size is good :)

The foundation is not bad, hope they can improve. The fried chicken (I ordered Okinawa Seaweed, the exclusive one, combo). The chicken was perfectly seasoned and nicely fried. Sadly their takeout box need to improve. The chicken was made-to-order, and need to wait for 10 min, so I guess it would be so crispy, however It was just 5min drive to my office, when I open the box it was not crisp anymore, probably because they put it in a bag first, and then in a box. This double package (actually triple, with the outer paper bag), made the chicken couldn't breathe. What a waste. That said the seaweed seasoning was stunning, better than expected.Btw, I guess Taiwanese are friendly and nice in general, but the staff was not. The cashier did not welcome you (well, post-covid people are not nice anymore), not willing to explain the menu, and not even a thank you after you purchase. Probably she was sick? She cough a lot in her mask. Why they make a not being well staff work?I would say, base on the food, the store theme, and location, I would give it another chance. Hope they can improve.

Monga Fried Chicken is a restaurant chain known for their crispy, juicy fried Taiwanese style chicken. There are two bistro style tables but this shop is set up for mainly takeout orders.I got the Taiker (Okinawan seaweed) flavoured signature fried chicken ($11.99) which was made fresh to order, & prepared within 10 minutes. Even after driving home, the coating was crisp and the chicken breast meat was juicy and perfectly cooked. The portion size was generous, easily shareable between 2 people. The staff were friendly and happily answered my questions about the menu offerings. Highly recommend!

Monga Fried Chicken (Richmond Hill)
This was my first time visiting, but we had a small group and decided to order three different flavours to try out. At time of ordering, we were warned it would be a 10-15 minute wait as the chicken would be made fresh. This shop is definitely takeout centric as there were only two small tables with three chairs total. We brought the chicken home to eat (about a 15 minute drive). The chicken was still hot, juicy, and flavourful. We had the Anaheim Pepper, Black Pepper & Salt, and Okinawa Seaweed flavours. All delicious!

We both got their Crispy Chicken Thigh w/ Chicken Rice Bento Combo, and a side order of QQ Sweet Potato Balls. The Crispy Chicken Bento came with a crunchy, juicy piece of Fried Chicken, we chose one with Black Pepper & Salt, topped with Monga Chili Sauce and the other with Okinawa Seaweed flavour, topped with Mayo! The Chicken was so delicious, super crispy, juicy, well-seasoned, the Rice had Chicken flavour, exactly like the ones used in Hainanese Chicken Rice, so filling, and delicious! The Fresh Coconut Orange Drink was also a delicious addition to this meal, super refreshing! QQ Sweet Potato Balls came in 12 pieces, they were so flakey on the outside, perfectly chewy inside, and filled with Yam puré, we highly recommend this!

Great place for Taiwanese-style fried chicken! The Chicken is really fresh and you know that they fry this to order. It's really hot to bite in so be careful! Other than that it's super crunchy.Great customer service! The staff is very helpful to explain the wait time.

The chicken seemed to be on the sweeter side, not sure why. We ordered 6 Taiwanese Chicken 4 original, Taiker, and Hot. But all 6 had this sweetness that completely ruined eating fried chicken. I mean come on when you say Hot it should make you cry. I am not from Taiwan but my friend has stayed there for 10 years and can definitely say there shouldn't be sweetness to the chicken. Come on it's a savory item. I would say AiTaker on Bathurst is a much better option.

Another Great Taiwanese Fried Chicken franchise opened in Time Square at HWY7 & Leslie.Their special cut, signature fried chicken fillet comes with different flavors and sauces to choose from, and the BAOger has 3 different meat choices plus french fries style. They remind me of the fun time when traveling in Taiwan and going through the night market with all kinds of food stands to fill the stomach with.If you are nearby and looking for some Fried Chicken fun, this is one of foreign styles you should try with!!

Have ordered here twice and both times was kind of a let down. Really wanted to like it which is why we gave it another try because we are big supporters of all things Taiwanese big unfortunately we found the chicken is dry and not that flavourful.Be prepared to wait a long time for your order as well. We know they prepare it fresh so we ordered it well in advance. We were told our take out would be ready on time but when we arrived, it still wasn’t ready and we had to wait an additional 20 minutes. During those 20mins, we were able to place an order for a rice and noodle dish at another restaurant in the same plaza and received that order before our meal was ready for pick up at Monga.
