Loved this museum! It clearly shows the work of sealing, another desperately difficult and dangerous job of Newfoundlanders. The short film, the photos, and the implements give a feeling of the times. A short stop near the Ellison puffin site, so well worth it. A favourite of the museums we’ve seen in Newfoundland.

An extremely professional permanent exhibit detailing the sealing trade and those involved for the past few hundred years. Great pictures, videos, and stories about the life of a sealer, including heart breaking stories about those who perished during sealing hunts. There are also some massive wall-sized art pieces well worth checking out.

Excellent interpretation centre. Small but informative. Very friendly staff. Some really beautiful seal skin products for sale (check out the boot toppers).

An excellent museum showing the dangerous and difficult life of those who went out on the sealing boats. I came away with a deep respect for these men and boys. Follow your time at the museum with a trip to the Sealers Memorial just down the road.

The museum has a series of paintings that depict sealers stranded on the ice. A very touching tribute to those lost.Also, history of the sealing fleet is well displayed. I've been there twice and would go again when nearby.

Very interesting and informative the guid was especially helpful with assisting us and answering questions, for me it invoked some very moving memories as my own dad prosecuted the seal fishery/hunt

Brilliant exhibit. 6 exquisite David Blackwood lithographs. Warm welcome from staff. Highly recommended. Remember to see memorial a minute from interpretation centre. Deeply moving and informative account of sealing.

Fascinating information on an extremely hard way to make a living. A job that was in existence for almost 200 years.Thousands died over the years. Well worth stopping if you are anywhere near.
