Courtyard by Marriott Kitchener

First time I experienced the lack of accountability from a Marriott staff member.1. Noticed that the privacy curtain was missing from my room - mentioned to the front desk that it would impact my sleep due to the evening / early morning sunlight (plus it is a privacy curtain). Justine, the front desk associate, mentioned that there was no maintenance person who could address the issue but she would talk to her GM and get back to me the next day.2. Later found that the thermostat was not functional, so the temperature was stuck at 69 degrees.3. The water temperature was hot. Appears that the shower faucet was not installed properly.Mentioned the last 2 issues to Jaskaran on Tuesday (July 11) who said that he would ask maintenance to look into the issue.So, imagine my surprise when I came back and checked with the front desk - the associate said that he had not heard anything when the shift was transitioned to him and NO work had been completed.I mentioned that the response was unacceptable - he had te usual apology and offered to give me another room - initially I refused the upgraded room since the noise level was high (from the main road) and additionally I would need to rearrange everything in Room2. Due to the lack of another option, I eventually agreed.To summarize, this is not the behavior expected from a Courtyard, especially when a safety issue (hot water) is involved.

Absolutely perfect old school service in a brand new hotel. Design, accommodation, and service are world class. To top it off, Saksham provides world class service at the bar with customer relevant preferences and innovative offerings.

Pros:The rooms were tidy and modern with a comfortable bed and great shower.Parking is free.Convenient location for us.Cons:The staff seemed quite unknowledgeable on a few items.Was told laundry is send out only, but there is a machine in the basement.Lack of dining.The pool is very small.

I recently.stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Kitchener for three nights for our convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Auditorium . Recently this location has been rebranded and renovated from a Radisson. The room was excellent, well appointed. Service was excellent. The Bistro in the lobby area serves excellent food with excellent service. I strongly recommend this hotel. If we return to Kitchener for another convention in the future, I will definitely stay at the Courtyard.

Beautiful room. Completely renovated. Went to a wedding and needed to check in early ..very helpful and a pleasant stay.

A great hotel just minutes from the Kitchener Airport. Clean rooms with friendly staff made this 1 night stay on a business trip quite enjoyable. Amenities include a pool, gym, and full bar with Starbucks coffee.
