Seminar thoughts :Absolutely LOVED it!! I think the assessment is so helpful to give us a more complete understanding of the dogs coming in and how to build a training plan for each individual dog.Going more indepth about reinforcement schedules, the training process and how to determine rate of learning etc has really helped to make my understanding more robust. I believe my training will be more effective due to the knowledge learned over the seminar.I loved that we spent so much time on actually theory and going in depth. I feel like other programs I've learned from skim on the theory and then get hands on dogs for longer. Due to the amount of time we spent on theory, and the time my brain had to absorb the information between week 1 /2 I was better able to use that information in the hands on portion. It was really cool to watch all of us begin to talk through the different stages and how / why we would change different exercises as we were working the dogs.Lisa is an instructor who is obviously passionate about her job and her training. She made the whole process fun, accessible and her wealth of knowledge was a joy to learn from. Not to mention she gave us so many resources to continue our learning !!I would love to see Lisa come out again for literally any course and im really looking forward to taking her course on street dogs once it is released!!!

When we met Lisa we were at the end of our ropes and starting to feel very hopeless. We were scared to lose out 1-year-old dog Milo, who was aggressive towards our other dogs in the home and people reactive. We couldn't even have Milo on the same floor of our house as the other dogs, now he cuddles with them. Lisa was truly a miracle worker for our family. She helped us learn what Milo needed to be successful and slowly we were able to re-integrate him back into the family. Not only did Milo need training but so did we. Lisa was great to work with at our home sessions and always made sure to check in with us between visits. It has been almost 11 months and not only are we happier but so is Milo. I can't say thank you enough to Canine Foundations and Lisa for keeping our family together and continuing to help us learn about our dogs and their needs. It really does get better it just takes time!

As a professional pet resort owner, I highly recommend taking as many training courses as you can from Canine Foundations. The training courses have definitely made a difference for me and my staff. My staff have all enhanced their skills and knowledge and it shows in their daily performance and work ethic. Our instructor was amazing and very thorough. I highly recommend.

I reached out to Alison for some help with my French Bulldog (3yrs Old). His excitement was overwhelming me when the doorbell rang or saw someone walking outside. As it turned out she told me that his excitement turns into anxiety which in turn can lead to aggression. This is when I knew I had called the right people to help me calm his behavior and regain “alpha”. The nipping was getting to be too much and Alison showed me techniques and verbal commands to gain control. She was in my home where she met with my husband and I for two hours, saw the environment that my dog was in, did some assessing of his behavior and came up with a plan. The effects were immediate! It was like having Caesar Milan in my house! I strongly recommend Alison or anyone of her colleagues (depending on your individual needs they will send you the right trainer). She has helped us with our confidence and our dog is much calmer and happier.

I can’t recommend Canine Foundations enough!From their amazing trainers, to their courses, it’s always a fantastic and positive experience!I’m currently enrolled in their Training Academy Program through Georgian College to become a professional myself, and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made! I’m learning so much, constantly supported and encouraged , and have never had a teacher(s) want to see their students succeed like they do here! If you’re considering becoming a trainer, or even just improving your knowledge of dogs , I recommend Canine Foundations hands down!
