Leiner River Recreation Site

Beautiful. Peaceful. Scenic. Just stopped here for an hour to take some scenic pictures and relax. Perfect for that! Would be a good spot for a day trip and a picnic.

I'm afraid to leave a good review because then next time I come to the campground there won't be a spot for me but I'll do it anyway because it's such an amazing place to camp so quiet peaceful on the river you hear the river flowing gently beside the campground over the rocks and there are only five or six sites there but they're all really good. Leaner Trail connects to the campground and is a wonderful wonderful hike. Please take out what you bring in including your empty beer cans and your plastic wrappers. Seems everybody that was there before left all their garbage when there is garbage cans in the area. So shameful.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay for free. Water is super clear and blue and perfect. Lot of moss and fern too. Not enough sun light on the campground but still amazing

There's nice boardwalks that lead to the estuary and coast on the opposite side of the inlet from Tahsis. Misty forests that open to scenic vistas.

There are three parts to the Leiner river:- The rec site; it has some nice campsites near the river and some decently maintained washrooms- The boardwalk trail; it starts from the pullout after the campsites and is quite easy but beautiful. it overlooks the river at times and loops through some fields and forested areas.- The Leiner river bouldering trail; it starts just before the river and trails past some pretty cool caves as you walk alongside the river for about 30-45 minutesAll three activities are well worth the time, just depending on your hiking abilities and what you’d like to see!
