The challenge Guildcrest accepted in building our home is that we designed it while we were still living in Hong Kong. They delivered on every detail and spec. Naturally, the energy efficiency of our home is fantastic, something we enjoy tremendously. But probably the biggest advantage for us, building in a remote location where typically, trades people disappear to enjoy hunting seasons and building materials are left exposed to the elements for long periods, was that we wanted to start enjoying our retirement home in months, not years! Problems? Yes, of course there were, but every single one of them was resolved to our satisfaction. I highly recommend building with Guildcrest.

If you’re considering using Barrie Build & Design to erect your Guildcrest home, we strongly suggest you go elsewhere. Bob Stewart has passed this business down to his son who we have found to have no problem lying & deceiving clients. Our house was built in 2018 in Seguin Township. We were told that there would be a home inspection 1year after initial build to go over any issues we may have with the house. It took us two years of persistent calls and emails before they finally came out. They recognized problems with our flooring, caulking and several problems with cracks in drywall…especially the ceiling where the crack runs the entire length of the house where the 2 halves are joined together. Although they recognize this issues, no repairs or compensation have taken place.Stay away from Barrie Builds is our advice. Quality staff have left this business since Adam Stewart has taken over the business stating he is a untrustworthy spoiled little brat and they could no longer work with him.Guildcrest does build a decent home, but we suggest you do your due diligence regarding the builder. Also,,,we strongly suggest holding back 10% of the cost of building until builder has corrected any issues with the build. Also, with all the drywall issues we have experienced, we suggest you do not waste money painting these houses for about 2 years otherwise you’ll be repainting again due to cracked drywall

Guildcrest builds a decent home but do your due diligence on the builder you use to complete the building practice. Our advice is stay away from Barrie Build and design ( Barrie Builds ). We had them build our Guildcrest home 4 yrs ago. We paid extra for a smooth texture ceiling opposed to their standard 1960’s popcorn ceiling. We were told that they would be doing an inspection one year after initial build but that took two years with constant phone calls and emails. They confirmed that the ceiling needed work ( lots of drywall cracks ) as well as wall areas above windows. To date, 4 yrs later, no corrections have been done. We honestly feel like they’ve gotten our money and now we’re of no concern to them. If you choose to avoid our warning regarding Barrie Builds, at least hold back 10% until they have completed the necessary work that will be required due to the house settling. Also don’t waste your money painting these houses for at least two years because you will need to repaint after drywall imperfections are repaired. In regards to Barrie Builds, Bob Stewart has passed this business down to his son Adam Stewart. Our experience with Adam is that although he comes of as a nice guy, he is not a trustworthy man of his words. Since Adam has taken over Barrie Builds, quality staff have quit.We strongly recommend you avoid Barrie Builds. Not worth all the lies and headaches.

Was very disappointed with Guildcrest. They made promises in emails before I gave the initial deposit then later when things weren't as they had confirm in the email, apologized for the confusion. Gave them plans of what I wanted, they came back with a larger footprint but less interior dimensions at a higher price, next draft came back with a smaller footprint with even less dimensions for the price they had confirmed. I took many months to even get to this point. Very frustrating and aggravating. I finally decided NOT to deal with them and have lost my deposit! I things were this bad at the start ....

I would give a zero if there was on option. Horrible experience from the beginning to the end. STAY AWAY FROM GUILDCREST IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR SANITY! I have a cracked foundation. They left us in a flood with no power to the sub pump yet. The whole house is crooked. allowed to see anything through covid!0ZERO STARSStay clear of Sean, Martin, & Kristina from Moorwood. They lie, and pass the buck everything. So unorganized!!! Don't give them any of your money, keep looking!!

Hello,My wife & I were in the market for a home, and looked at the Guildcrest homes in Marionville. We were looking to downsize from out current home. We liked the bungalow home layouts Guildcrest had and when we saw the home from the unfinished basement point of view, I was astonished at the quality and workmanship that went into the home. I felt like I was ripped off by my previous builder (of my current home).Nadine & Mattie were so helpful in answering all my questions and getting me information to help us make a decision. I became committed to try to find a way to be able to purchase a Guildcrest home. Unfortunately, another opportunity that addressed our needs, was presented to us by a realtor and we decided to go with that. But in the back if my mind, I still wished I could’ve gotten a Guildcrest home.Thank you Nadine & Mattie you should be proud of the product you’re representing “Guildcrest” !

I love my Guildcrest home! It was everything we had hoped it would be, and more. Mattie was great to work with and helped us through every step of the building process. She was easy to talk to and get a hold of if there were any questions or concerns. Dave and Eric were on site everyday to make sure everything was on schedule.
