I came in for Dine out this past Sunday and was impressed. We sat at the bar and our server gave us great service. The food was delicious in my opinion. The stand out dishes were the chicken of the sea and the pork dish. I also ordered a non alcoholic ginger beer for $5 which I thought was a great price for the taste . Overall I thought for the food and service, the price we paid was fair.I would definitely come back with 4 people to try the full tasting menu.Areas for improvement would be check the chairs/stools to make sure they're level as mine was wobbly. Not a huge thing but it's a small fix that I think would improve the experience. Also I would recommend Ubering as the area is unfortunately very sketchy. If you are going to walk, I'd recommend parking in the neighborhood with houses more south and then walking.

Probably the best food I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant. It’s too bad they don’t have bread service as I would have cleaned the plate. Highly recommend checking this place out! From the unique/fun vibe inside to excellent service to amazing food, you can’t go wrong.Note about the location: it looks super sketch everywhere around the restaurant but don’t let that deter you. There is pay parking right in front of the restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food and great service! Each dish was beautifully decorated, accompanied by delicious sauce. Chicken of the sea is a must eat. Lamb tartare was not smelly at all, flavoured with lemon and capers. Trout was fluffy and seasoned well. Quite pricey for the portion but recommend this place to everyone for quality food.

Our top favorite restaurant in Vancouver. It was such a great experience, from service to food. Thank you, guys!We had their tasting set with wine pairing, which I highly recommend. The food is so perfectly balanced, delicious! And our server was giving some introduction to every single course, she was amazing. This place is a real hidden gem.

Amazing service and great food inside a very unassuming exterior. The Mackenzie Room somehow manage to land a very interesting vibe that feels very welcoming and casual all the while delivering a great fine dining experience.Would definitely come back!

WOW. Location is a bit sketchy to say the least.....notwithstanding, the minute you enter you're welcomed by passionate and knowledgeable staff. If you are a foodie this is a MUST TRY location. Best option is the, I WANT IT ALL" option ($85/person). It's a 12 course tapas share option

Very creative, delicious, and artful food. Heavier, but tasty sauces with most dishes. Loved the Chicken of the Sea. Tried the “I want it all” menu for 4 people and every dish was tasty for sure. However, only the salad, chicken of the Sea and dessert flan were easily shareable with portions for each person. The sacrificial lamb only had two very small slices of lamb to split in half for one bite per person (like four slices of small lamb would be great) and other dishes like surf and turf had two scallops and a small sablefish so lots of self cutting and dividing for each dish to ensure each person can get a taste of everything which really destroys the food as it’s kinda hard to cut some of the smaller items into 4.Also, some of the chairs were wobbly and the table or floor (not sure which one) where we were sitting was slanted. More comfy chairs would have been even nicer.

Fabulous food, tastes better than The Published. Good ambience and wait staff were professional, courteous and welcoming.Dessert could be a little bit better. The flan was a bit too sweet and dense. Great overall experience and would rate the restaurant as a solid 9/10 or 4.5 out of 5.

Incredible food! Culinary artistry served up in East Van. The chef’s menu has everything. I found it to be filling. (For the guys, not quite.) the space was cozy, very cozy. The decor, furniture and lighting made it feel antique, like a community of old friends. Similarly, the service was also chummy, like we knew each other and could joke around casually. They also knew their staff, introducing each plate perfectly. The space and washrooms were clean. Some things to know before you go. The area is not upscale, downtown Van. I wouldn’t walk from my car to the restaurant in the dark by myself. (Maybe that’s just me.) The building is old. I noticed that my table was on a slight slant. If you’re with vegan friends, the restaurant will accommodate, which is amazing and not too common. And make reservations, if you can!

Tried out the Mackenzie Room for the first time for my birthday and It was enjoyable. We tried out the dine menu which consisted of the best selling dishes. Overall the dishes were good but not mind-blowing. Our favourite dish was certainly the salmon. If we had to come back it would be to order just the salmon. Service was very busy so maybe i would recommend not to go during busy hours.
