Youbou Bar & Grill
Took a motorcycle ride down from Courtenay.Had the homemade burger.It was nice and juicy and delicious.Staff was very pleasant.Great view from the deck, lots of parking around back.And a nice little area to visit.Next time I'm bringing the bathing suit for a dip in the lake.

I absolutely love this place! The menu is a little small, but it's definitely a quality vs quantity type of situation. The quality of the food is very impressive and more than makes up for it. Everything is made fresh. They have fun events going on a lot and daily specials. I highly recommend going on Monday for pizza. Or you can stop by Tuesday for board game night. The atmosphere is awesome too, really friendly staff, and an amazing view of Lake Cowichan and the surrounding mountains. 10/10, you have to try it!

Great food, great service and very friendly staff. We went on for a drive on Family Day and ended up in Youbou and stopped in for lunch, had a great bowl of soup and prices were really good.

They clearly put a lot of thought and effort into the decor of this spot. It’s so nice it should be a venue to host weddings and parties if it is t already. Nice views of the lake if you sit outside, they have heaters by the tables if it’s chilly out. Friendly service, there’s more parking around back if the front looks full.

We made a reservation for 12 and they were pretty fast getting us our food. The nachos, fries, cauliflower bites and pizzas were great. The bacon chicken alfredo was really bland by all accounts, but with some salt and pepper it was pretty good. It tasted like the sauce wasn't much more than cream! The slices of avocado on the chicken burgers were big and unripe (to be fair they warned us that the avocado was unripe.) The drinks were excellent and it's a pretty place!

This burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! It was the mushroom and crispy onion burger… And I could never have imagined it more perfect… The garlic aïoli and the crispy onions together wow! The meat was so juicy… And then I found out it was cut in house.I took my senior mother out there and my neurodivergent uncle and they were so very happy with the food and especially the homemade fries! I was very grateful to the manager and the kitchen for making us meals as we showed up right at the time the kitchen had closed .

Hello!I ate at this place after a big bike ride. I think I only ate cheezies and peanut butter that day. This should be noted.HOWEVER, I have eaten and made 1000s of salads in my life and the YOUBOU SALAD was THE BEST of them all. Stop what you’re doing and go order three salads.Too much breading on the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was swimming in buffalo sauce. Nacho cheese seemed fake/didn’t melt well.Joseph

Love this place. Friendly staff and really great local vibe. This is a one of my favourite places to enjoy a meal. Highly recommend.
