Words cannot adequately express how terrible my experience was with Bathfitter.Firstly, I was told service would be in 7-9 weeks after my $3000 deposit, however installation occurred 15 weeks after I paid my deposit. I asked to return my $ so that I could get service somewhere more timely and they refused. They also could not provide any timeline updates at any point.Secondly, my installer made very causal transphobic remarks to my partner and I, discussing an experience he had in another customers home where the installer Darcy described one of the partners as an obvious “Tranny” and then went on to tell us about how weird this was and how the couple got upset that he kept referring to the trans woman as the other partners husband. Darcy was unaware that my partner is a trans man, but passes. This made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe in our own home.Thirdly, we did not like the shower head that was installed and I let the installer know one day after installation that I wanted to return it. He insisted I “try it out” before I return it, even though I told him I didn’t want it.Fourthly, when I went to pay my invoice, I told the office staff, Amber, that I STILL wanted to return the shower head, they refused, citing that it was now 30 days past installation (I had gone out of the country for 2 weeks and had been unable to call before). I told her the installer had said to try it out and she said he would “never say that”, calling me a liar. I insisted and she said she spoked to the manager and would make a one time exception to refund for it (it was also marked up 50% from what home depot charges for the identical unit).Fifth, I also told the office that I wanted to talk to the manager about the transphobic experience we had, and she said the installer also said he never said what we claimed. I insisted that the manager call me to follow up with this. No one ever did.Sixth, when I received my invoice, she had charged me the additional $268 for the shower head she told me they would refund me for (costs $120 at home depot), and when I called upset about this, she said that the manager “changed his mind”, and so they charged me immediately after telling me they wouldn't and I guess hoped I wouldn't review my invoice.I again insisted I speak to the manager about all of this, and no one called me. I have called to follow up across several months, and the manager refuses to speak with me. Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. Literally go anywhere else, this business is a sham and will lie to you and respond in the most unprofessional ways. I will be filing a consumer protection claim and reporting them to the BBB.
