Maureen is patient and understanding. She alway has a fun way to assess, evaluate, teach and correct without my child ever realizing that an assessment is being made or treatment being given. After the initial assessment and through subsequent sessions, Maureen has explained the problem and the approach she would use making me feel confident that we have made a good choice to pursue speech services with her.

Maureen Penko is a wonderful speech language pathologist (SLP). My son has severe expressive-receptive language disorder and a severe speech impediment. Instead of only focusing on his pronunciation, Maureen works with him on a monthly basis to improve his verbal communication skills, social skills, and his overall quality of life. When he first started seeing her, he had no confidence whatsoever when it came to speaking with other children his age and because of this, he had no friends. Now, he won’t stop talking and has a friend group with whom he converses every day. Maureen gives him activities to practice at each lesson so when we go home, he has lots of opportunities to work on his skills. We are indebted to Maureen and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a qualified and dedicated SLP!
