Assiniboine Gordon Inn on the Park
The room is what I’d expect for the price EXCEPT- no control on the heat or A/C, way too warm in the room- the bathtub was clean when I checked in. The room west of mine had a shower later in the evening and the bottom of my bathtub was coated in brown crud in the morning. I ran some water to try and clear it, and all it did was back up. I’ve attached a picture to illustrate the sludge not moving at that point.- when I left the room an hour and a quarter later, the water was still in the bathtub.- I told the front desk and showed pictures: the only response was, “oh we’ll take care of it, don’t worry about that”. No offer of compensation or anything at all, just indifference. Honestly I don’t care if they fix it, never staying there again.

Decent location, excellent value for the price, comfortable beds. I like how it was close enough for me to bike to the park across the street or down town. Good food and drink options around. The room smelled a little smokey though. I slept on the back side facing away from the street, and it wasn't noisy.

Noisy as hell. Right over the street traffic. Place has no soundproofing. People seem to be living here, partying til 2:30, doors slamming all night. Bathroom fan doesn’t work. No temperature control. It is just a 2 star, that’s for sure.Out door was rattled several times thru the night. Did not feel safe. We’d been looking forward to the comfy beds after a long travel, but it’s going down as worst hotel stay we’ve had.Can NOT recommend. We actually debated packing up at 4am and paying for another hotel.

The scuzziest place we have ever seen! Part of the worst area of the city.Wouldn't even leave a car in that parking lot. Ugh.We drove 2 hours outside of Winnipeg towards our next destination ... anything would have been worth the drive.Don't know how you even got on this site.

At the room I got there was only a screen window and no way to shut it, so anyone outside can hear whatever you're doing and it gets chilly at night. The walls are pretty thin as well, so that probably would've been the case, shuttable window or not, anyway. The room was clean however, and the caretaker comes by every day around 2pm I'm pretty sure. Service is good here, and you're given a free complimentary breakfast and I enjoyed that fairly thoroughly. They accommodated me checking in early which was great for my circumstances, I think you just need to call about it and they'll be ready to help you out so long as your room isn't already reserved the night before. There's also a solid burger join just down the street (The Burger Place, ~5 minute walk). If the window thing doesn't bug you, it's not a bad place to stay.

I first booked through Expedia. The hotel looked nice on picture. When i arrived, they couldn't find my reservation. Ok, let's book another room instead. Rooms wasnt in the nice hotel on the picture but in the motel across the street ? Room was comfortable, but no microwave and too hot.The front desk guy told us breakfast start at 6. I even asked him twice, to be sure. We book this hotel instead of another one because of the breakfast. We leave early and spend the day on the road so it was important. Now, this morning, we want to get breakfast before a long day on the road. We want to drop our key card at the same time. It's almost 7 and it's closed ? I thought it was 6 but the schedule by the door says 7.Someone come out and ask what we're doing. I says I though it was open at 6? He doesn't ask if we have a room or anything, he says no it's closed today. And close the door back.We go pack our stuff to come back at 7, front door is still locked, no indications of where to drop the key cards, no indications to use another door. We try the restaurant door and it's not locked. Door leads to the lobby, same guy is there and just seems annoys to see us.Also they take a 250$ deposit, wich is a lot more than most hotel.I first wanted to put 3 stars but our morning experience made it drop to 2.

The location was very good! Close to the park and airport. Also, close to polo park mall. But service could improve a little. Price is good! 1/2 price some other hotel around. Bar lounge, beer store, vlt, and restaurant all in the hotel. Very convenient.

Location wise right on portage Ave. I went to the bar and was greeted by friendly staff and a good bartender that made me feel welcomed and the atmosphere was nice
