My expectations weren’t high at first. There were tons of bad reviews, the shop is messy and it smells. But the variety of coins they had definitely made up for it. The owner was helpful (though I can see how he would have been anti-mask) and every coin was reasonably priced.

Even though he’s the only veteran, coin and card guy left in the city from what I can tell, he didn’t take advantage of that or me, for that matter.I had inherited a bunch of coins and it was a lot to go through, but I could tell this guy just knows his stuff. All he needed to do was see it and he knew exactly what year and how much it would be going for. He was also very honest about how much he was going to be making Which seemed surprising to me but I was very comfortable with how much he was offering. Save me a ton of time which frankly is worth more than those coins would have gone for. Lol

The owner of this place is a real… “winner”. Walked by the store and saw he had vinyl records, thought I’d pop in and look. Stops myself and my partner immediately at the door and says, what I heard as, “we don’t need to wear masks,” I brushed it off and thought he was just acknowledging that the mask mandate was over. Stops us again and says that if we want to be in there, we need to take our masks off, and it’s private property. If we wanted to be in the store, we had to take them off. Pandemics not over folks, and this is just another case of these conspiracy theory driven twits that are part of the reason we still have constant revolving restrictions. Won’t be back. Guy could probably use the business given the state of the store.

Some guy just left a very hostile review with absolutely no basis of truth whatsoever, and it’s actually appalling. As a very frequent customer at Imperial Coin & Stamp Co., I've spent tens of thousands of dollars at Ed's store. Clearly, this guy has not. Ed offers the best customer service with high level knowledge and the most fair pricing whether you're buying or selling. He’s got the largest inventory of comic books, sports cards, records, coins, stamps and other collectibles in all of the Hamilton region.

I guess this man didn’t want our business. I went in this afternoon with my dad. We were downtown at another shop and walked past this store. My dad is a sports card collector and enjoys this type of store. We walked in, wearing masks, and the gentleman sitting at the front said “sir you need to take your mask off” and when my dad asked why the man said “security reasons”. I find it odd that in a middle of a pandemic we were being asked to take our masks off. Not everyones comfort level is the same. We turned right around and walked back out. I would have appreciated the honesty, just saying he didn’t want us in his store if we were wearing masks. No need for this “security” excuse. I understand we all have different thoughts and beliefs in regards to covid/masks, but asking someone to take their mask off is totally not okay. This man doesn’t know our reasons for wearing a mask. Regardless, poor customer service in my opinion. Won’t be going back there!!

This is a junk store. Not a coin shop. Dirty, stuff everywhere, the owner sits on a stack of garbage and yells. Weird! Do not expect a coin shop. It is a second hand store at best.

Attempted to come in today and I was denied entry at the door because I was wearing a mask. I repeated back to him what he said and said to my partner I was with that I had to leave because of my mask.My partner who was not masked went in and was out in about 2 minutes. He was told that 'masks were no longer required' and my partner told him they were still required for some people. Said there was so much stuff stack on top of each other there was no way he could see things.To the man to denied me entry,, if you are the owner your store your rules. Be advised Covid hasnt gone away. Because the government said masks were no longer required you and the government have no clue to my health history.If you are an anti vaxxer and believe Covid dosent exist I hope you dont get sick. The World Health Organization declared Covid 19 a global pandemic just over 3 yeara ago (3 years ago this month I think).Good luck.1 star so I could post a review. Im not gonna be back and will tell people I know not to bother coming in.

The owner is rude and kicks people who are wearing masks out of his store (as if the pandemic is over). He uses the pathetic excuse of security risk" and a very aggressive tone to chastise ppl. Just walking into the store front
