Helpful and friendly staff. Waiting times can be a little lengthy. My vehicle registration was done by them quite quickly.

This afternoon I went to Windermere Registry to renew my license and had a difficult time as I was told to bring in my passport (this was after I used my treaty card as my identification) and proof of residency (utility bill, bank statement) as the 6 month renewal mark has passed. The clerk I was dealing with was very new which is understandable for all the confusion and miscommunication but the people she was turning to for help seemed like they could care less. She asked questions like “can I accept this card”, what’s the process if the license is passed 6 months. After paying my tickets I was denied getting my license renewed as they told me I need to bring in my passport and a utility bill or bank statement. After repeatedly asking the confused clerk “all I need to do is bring in my passport” she agreed. Then I clarified one more time and then she added a bank statement or something of that sort for proof of residency. After hearing that I needed to bring in my passport- as I could have pulled up a bank statement on my phone easily- I really didn’t feel like being in that space as that tells me they were not receptive of the documentation I already presented. I went to another registry shower them my bank statement and used my treaty card with ease and renewed my license within 10 minutes. I went back to this registry to have a conversation with the manager and one lady told me to have a seat so I can fill out a form. I didn’t really want to be pushed aside, I really just wanted to get to the point of what was really upsetting and speak to my experience and not speak to a clipboard. I simply just wanted to talk about why would you tell me to bring my passport in when I already showed you my status card etc… after being gaslit and told I was never told I had to bring in my passport and the issue was simply just with showing them proof of residency (which didn’t sound like it was the only problem when I initially came into renew my license).Simply put I just told her, if a First Nation person comes in here and gives your their status card and you tell them to bring in any other piece of government ID that’s not okay. I told her she’s not understanding the issue and she kept being argumentative. The lady I was speaking to turned her back to me and walked away. So I thanked her for being unhelpful and I am writing a review to let the general public see one example of being out through hoops all because the only issue was “proof of residency ”.

The staff are always pleasent and nice, but no matter what day or time you will be waiting in line. They really need to hire more staff. At most half of the stations will be being used at one time. I also got my glasses condition removed here after my Lasik and something must be wrong with their machine because everything was oddly blurry through it and I know it wasn't the fault of my vision.

This registry is the closest to my home so I use it by default. Over the years I've had good experiences and not so good ones here. Today it was pretty decent. The line was busy as can be expected on a Saturday afternoon but almost all of the booths were operating. The line moved at a good pace and I got what I needed done quickly and efficiently.

Very bad experience with instructor when getting sons license. Instructor seemed to not have the time to go over what he had done wrong. When we received the test results my son said he had shoulder checked every time and signaled every time, yet she had marked him for not doing it.

Parminder Kauy was very helpful and kind. She’s very calm and informative. Overall she made it a great experience for me and my husband. Definitely returning to this location in the future.

This is my first ever review. I usually look at reviews to help me out, but not soon enough before booking a road test here. I took my test, examiner was rude & getting frustrated with me. I was reinstating my license and felt super nervous. Didn’t help that he spoke too much and was distracting me, as well as audibly becoming annoyed. I was never a bad driver, but he sure made me feel like one. Went to another place the next day and got my class 5 back. Do not recommend, but it’s up to you.

Theresa is an amazing road test examiner. She was fair and made good small talk to reduce my stress during the test. She also talked in a supportive way that gave me a lot more confidence during the test too. Probably one of the best in or around southwest Edmonton to go to.

I never post reviews and unfortunately this experience was so appalling that I have to. I’ve been requiring assistance since March 22, 2023 in regards to a Driver’s abstract that needs to be issued for the registry of a vehicle in another province. I’ve yet to receive a response and it’s been 8 weeks since I sent my Notary Request with identification and all documents requested. I called over 15 times today just to be answered and hung up on, then followed by another individual who placed me on hold for 1hr and 18 minutes. If you decide to come to this registry please reconsider. I’ve also sent an email once again to express my concerns and no response. Absolutely terrible registry.

I had few docs to get done at the registry today, not sure what was the lady agent name but I swear I finished in 5 mins, the lady was faster then me filling up the form and she handled me all docs politely. I was very satisfied and would like to thank the lady sitting in cabin 1 today. Young and very efficient.
