Antique Clock Repairs

I dropped off my clock three months ago and was informed the clock would be ready in five weeks. I called and was informed by the clock repair person that he had started fixing the clock but they were in the middle of a move. Therefore it would take a littl longer. The I received a phone call from a lady member of staff stating that the repairs to the clock hadn’t started and it would be another three weeks and if this wasn’t acceptable I could collect my clock un fixed

Our grandfather clock has a brass dial that was in desperate need of of restoration. I had heard about a new antique clock restoration business in Truro and decided make a visit. Rick and Kris welcomed me in and I found them both to be extremely friendly, helpful, informative and knowledgeable-they certainly know what they are talking about.A few days later, I eagerly got the brass dial to them and Rick examined it which badly needed re silvering. Both Rick and Kris explained the process and procedures involved and then showed me examples of other restored brass dials waiting for collection by other customers. I was given a written quote and the length of time required (which wasn’t bad considering Covid -19) and left knowing that the clock was in safe hands leaving me confident that a good job would be done.When I went to collect the clock, I was utterly astounded by the incredible transformation and brilliant craftsmanship that had been put into doing the job and the dial looked far better than I could ever have hoped for.

I found Rik to be very knowledgeable and friendly. He repaired my maritime clock with the minimum of fuss and his charge was more than reasonable. I would highly recommend his services.

I dropped my grandads Barometer in to be repaired as was broke by third party. I never heard anything so rang up and they couldn't find the item , then had a call to say did I definitely drop it in . Then it was found but not repaired . I waited a further few weeks and decided to call in 9/11/22 only to find they had moved office , I did find them and went into office to see it in the shelf still not repaired and was told it would be damaged if tried to repair . I wish I was told in the first instance over 6 months ago that they couldn't do it , I'm sure the work is quality but my experience not great service at all .So glad I have it back , I got the feeling it wasn't worth their time .

Kris and Rik have done a fantastic job repairing our dual faced clock which is around 150 years old and is a main feature at Earle's Retreat in Falmouth. We are a charity Almshouse therefore delivering to budget was key and very timely as the clock is back in place for our annual carol service next week, just as requested. The clock can be seen in the centre of the big window.

I rang Antique Clock Repairs having seen a flier in the local pub. My grandfather was in an awful state. It hadn’t worked for years & I had never heard it chime. So it was pretty terminal & I suggested they could use it for parts. Of it went for major surgery & just before Christmas was returned looking fabulous ! This was a fantastic labour of love - thank you so very much lads.
