Our children have been at Humberside Montessori School since 2015 (now in Upper Elementary and Adolescent Program classes). Our biggest draw to the school has been it's AMI certification - where we know our children have a pedagogy closest in alignment to Maria Montessori's teachings. The teachers we have had experience with from Casa to lower El and now Upper El and AP have all been exceptional: very passionate about their craft and a positive influence on our children. Recently over COVID, management made leadership changes which have landed very well in strategically positioning the school to continue to grow, develop and provide our children an exceptional learning environment. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Montessori environment for their children.

It has been a pleasure to have registered my son in this school. We were very happy to find it and lucky have a space for him. The first time we had the tour in the school, you have the wish to become a kid once more and come to learn to this place. The school is great, the teachers and rest of the staff are amazing, helpful, dedicated and passionate about their work. It was really like a small family and coming from a different and far away country this is something that is highly appreciated. My kid learnt a lot during these two years and the only inconvenience is that we had to move from Canada, as he was enjoying a lot going to school, his friends and teachers. We all going to miss this!

The program and the employees are wonderful. My child attended, and really enjoyed, the before and after-school program. They have a very talented, caring and accommodating staff and management team. I would highly recommend trying the program.

Our sons attended Humberside Montessori from the ages 4 and our oldest just graduated Grade 8. What a beautiful community to help raise our children in. Daily, I can see the effects of that community in the way they treat the world with kindness and empathy. Our our oldest started Grade 9 in Advanced Placement (AP) and I can already see the discipline he learned at Humberside Montessori carrying over into the next stage of his academic career. Thank you to all the team at Humberside for the partnership!

Lots of bullying covered up by teachers and privileged parents who are raising privileged kids. Teachers have no passion for teaching and come off as cold and “mean” in my child’s words. Worst experience of my life. Never took one piece of work home. I do not recommend and warn parents unless you’re privileged and you have no control over your child then this is a fit for you. Very chaotic and unorganized. Also they don’t let your kids dress up for halloween or have any of those fun experiences. Please do your research before hand don’t make the same mistake I did.

We had a great experience here with our 3 children. The school is AMI based and has a wonderful balance of Montessori and real world exposure. Teachers are caring and happy, supportive staff are wonderful. Really it’s been many years and there has been very little to complain about.

I was in this school for 6 years, this is a great school, personally i was in casa-c, elementary-d, and elementary-f, Aasiya, the teacher in elementary-f was definitely the best teacher ive ever had, all programs are enjoyable, and i spent my full 6 years there being in the after-school program for up to 3 hours a day, shoutout to Pasita and Kelly for having to deal with me for so long, in upper elementary (grades 4-6) theres a bullying problem due to the drastic difference in age, leaving the older kids to have more “power” over the younger, but, even though the school had its quirks, every day had some nice aspect, wether it was talking to the super nice people in the office, going out to the local library to get information for projects, running small errands, or even cooking all within school hours, thats what makes Montessori schools so amazing, that freedom, that fun, and having that option to go to dollarama for a “project” even though you dont need anything and are just there to kill time, a regular passtime for students, i loved this school, and i miss it

I wonder if parents know that one teacher is responsible for bringing a large group of students to local parks. There is little supervision and older students are the only ones playing with the younger children.

Extremely poorly run school. Felix and Molly have taken a backseat as they are extremely old (70-80s) and really just need to retire / sell the school, the place suffers from a lack of leadership. Very poor communication with parents with regards to field trips, where children are taken offsite frequently on a day to day basis without any notification to parents. The school does whatever they want and never have to answer to anyone. They have zero accountability, which is dangerous for a school.Their 'code of conduct' is a joke. They make everyone sign this but there are absolutely no repercussions when a student or parent does not follow it. When an issue arises with a child, the school's reaction is to make the environment so difficult for that family that the child eventually leaves the school - instead of fixing issues with bullying and poor behavior. There are frequent injuries, bullying incidents, and inappropriate behavior from children, usually at recess where there is a complete lack of monitoring from staff, and the school takes no responsibility and claims it has never happened before".There is a 'Principal' and a 'Parent Council' who are basically puppets for Felix and Molly who continue to rule from afar based on their outdated view of the world. The only redeeming feature of this school and the reason people stay are the caring teachers who are very attentive and do uphold the principles of Montessori. The children are curious
