BEWAREWent to hostel as walk in.Said they would charge $100 deposit-cash-per night on top of nightly charge!We said no thanks, as it seemed dodgy-hostels never charge deposits, and even the Hilton only charges $75 deposit!!!So we left.However…we were charged anyways!And when I called to get my money back…as this was an illegal charge…I didn’t sign for it!The hostel hung up on me!

A wonderful room, excellent service, and incredibly comfortable bed. The only flaw was the lack of hot water for the jacuzzi, but the staff addressed the problem as quickly as they could and reimbursed us when they couldn't fix it promptly. Would recommend.

Location and price - its a good choice. Hotel has charm and the front desk staff were very nice. Especially. Hien. She is very patient, kind and explains things very clearly.. you may find more charming, but if you were just needing a place to sleep in order to explore Montreal - this is a good one.

Great little hotel with over the top customer service!! Rooms are a little small but the building and rooms are super clean. Metro is right across the street, corner store is half block up and lots of close dining near by. Public parking is 1 block away and $12 a day.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms need some updating for comfort. I wish they had new pillows and mattresses. They were thin hard and uncomfortable.That said the neighborhood is great and you're close to a lot.

So impressed! the website i booked with made an error saying the room came with a spa bath when only some of the rooms did so when i arrived i expected a spa bath but they did not have that room available. The lady working at the front desk managed to upgrade me to a better room so that i could have a jacuzzi tub even though it was the websites error. it was the nicest thing that she did not have to do and it really made my trip special. the room was spotless and smelled lovely. it was a great atmosphere and the location was perfect for us to walk around and access the public transit. also referred us to the best breakfast place ever.

UNSAFE. There is strong odor of gas in the hotel's front stairwell. I reported this to the Front Desk staff and they refused to contact the authorities to investigate. I asked multiple times. I did not feel safe in this building. I checked out immediately and had to find another hotel. Staff first claimed the smell was present off-and-on for years, and claimed they did not smell it. Three of us all smelled the strong gas smell, however. My friends also staying in this hotel checked out. Auberge Le Pomerol refused to refund me. Only AFTER we all checked out and booked other hotels did they decide to contact the utility company to check for a gas leak. I don’t know what resulted with that, but their refusal to check for a gas leak after multiple guests reported the smell of gas in a stairwell is shockingly negligent. Avoid.

The building is quite old and worn and the lobby has a strange layout, but once I got past that everything was good. The room was small but very clean and the shower water pressure was good. The service was great. I would probably stay here again.

This hostel is a scam. We showed up to check it out-did not book beforehand-and they last minute said there’s a 200$ deposit for a hostel which is strange so we decided not to stay. They explicitly said we were not charged, then charged our card and refused to refund. They didn’t have a signature or any way to authorize it so they fraudulently took the money and the police had to be involved and the business even lied to them and said they voided it when it turned out they clearly hadn’t. Avoid this place, there’s several nicer hostels nearby that aren’t much more expensive-when you include the deposit and the fraud here it isn’t cheaper anyhow.

My daughter and I spent the weekend here and had a great trip. The location was perfect - walking distance to the winter festival, and a slightly longer walk to other places we wished to go. Parking was around the corner for $12 a night. The room price was much better than others in the area.The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. We did not have someone come and clean the room and change the towels, but we may have missed something there, like a need to put a tag on the door or something. Either way, we were fine. (Plus we're enviro-friendly.)The room itself was comfortable, and well-decorated. Honestly, the only issue was that there were little things that needed fixing - a window with a small crack, the gel and shampoo and conditioner dispensers over the bathtub were broken (and while bottles were provided as replacements, there wasn't a bottle of conditioner), a light switch that was broken and wouldn't turn off and required a strip of duct tape to keep it off. Also, warning: the hot water comes out HOT - keep an eye on your bath or it will be scalding.All the same, I'd stay there again. Highly recommended.
