The Home Depot

This particular Home Depot has a horrendous customer service.Bought a hose pipe in Sep 2022 with a “lifetime warranty “ . Barely used it a couple of months late last summer . This spring it started leaking. Took it back to the store with a receipt. The store manager (blonde old lady with no name tag) blatantly refused to return the hose pipe or give store credit .She advised me to directly contact the manufacturer in USA to see if they could help out . Went to a different Home Depot and the manager gave a store credit without any arguments. The manager at the Shawville Blvd store, clearly needs some lessons in customer service. Never returning to this branch of Home Depot again.

This is more for a coaching opportunity. I purchased a bunch of Oldcastle landscaping cap stones today (fortunately for me since many of the other landscaping shelves were empty). In the 20 minutes it took me to a) chock the wheels of the flatbed b)climb up on said flatbed in order to get on to the second shelf and c) pull down the stones one by one from the REAR pallet of the second shelf (since the front pallet was gone), neither of the two employees (cashier and guy moving around a pallet jack) noticed this 62 year old man doing this. I mentioned to the cashier that management probably doesn't want customers climbing around like this. What fun!

I have used Home Depot on numerous occasions. I am pleased on how quick they can get my online orders processed- usually within the day! Their Shawnessy location never disappoints- may it be in store support or curbside pick up, associates are polite,helpful and customer service is on point.**Update: needed to return several products that were unused from our recent project but lost the receipt/s. Front line staff (esp the lovely lady, I believe named Michelle?) was always ready to give a hand and patient with processing our returns. Up’d to 5 star as we always have pleasant interactions and hassle free experience from this store. **

I find these types of stores overwhelming. Fortunately, the staff is friendly and eager to help. A guy in the garden centre took time to track down an item for me. It was out of stock, but he still took the time. I appreciate that tenacity in a salesperson! Take the Shawville Shopping Centre exit rather than 162nd Ave. to save some traffic time.

I have always had great experiences at this Home Depot. The environment is always lively and they have excellent customer service all around. One instance I would like to mention is my experience with an associate named Deb. Deb greeted me with a smile while he was working in the parking lot and I needed him to tell me where to find a product and instead of just telling me, he took me there and showed me exactly where it was. I was so delighted by this customer service because he dropped whatever he was doing and focused on me. I then asked him to place an order for me for delivery and he was more than happy to do so and clearly explained the whole delivery process to me. Definitely recommend going to this Home Depot because they make it very clear that they love helping customers and go see Deb!!

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received today at your Shawnessy store in Calgary. The Pro Desk staff member showed no interest or competence when I asked for a deck cost estimate.Instead of assisting me, they seemed disinterested and failed to understand my project or provide an estimate. It was clear that they were not willing to do their job properly.Ironically, I turned to a cloud-based AI for help and was amazed by the results. The AI generated an accurate and detailed cost breakdown for my deck in a matter of seconds.The AI's efficiency and accuracy far surpassed the capabilities of your incompetent staff member. It even had the potential to search for the best prices of composite decking materials in Alberta.It's unacceptable that technology can outperform a human employee in both estimating and finding the best prices.I demand immediate action. Either replace this incompetent Pro Desk employee with AI or invest in training programs to enhance customer service. Embrace technology and stop wasting customers' time with incapable staff.Consider this a wake-up call. My loyalty to Home Depot has been severely damaged by this experience.Do not further disappoint me.P.S. This review was written by an AI. I recently witnessed an employee raise their voice and yell at an elderly lady. This behavior is utterly unacceptable. Customers, especially vulnerable ones, should be treated with dignity and respect. I hope management takes swift action to address this issue and ensure a welcoming environment for all. It was a young male employee.

Tried calling twice and rang and rang then both calls hung up.Called back after 30 minutes, got thru to store. Wanted home decor. Transferred to seasonal, then they transferred me back to customer service, then I was finally transferred to home decor.This is not the first time I have had difficulty contacting anyone in the store.Also, recently made an appointment. There was only one person in the department with several other people wanting assistance. Our appointment got interrupted several times.Questionable customer service at this store,

It is a big box home reno/hardware/garden centre store. I always find what I'm looking for and they have a tool rental program so I don't have to buy tools for a one off project. Good service.

We had a new kitchen put in through Home Depot's project loan approximately five years ago. We were extremely pleased with the service of the in-store designer, Kim at Shawnessy Home Depot, who devoted many hours to our project. We especially appreciated her expertise in finding ways to make accommodations for my husband's mobility issues and also in finding cost-saving measures to help us stay within our budget.We were also grateful to have the Home Depot team advocate on our behalf when contractors' work was not acceptable or not completed in a timely fashion.Home Depot takes care to hire contractors whose work can be guaranteed.I have given four stars only because long term, the kitchen quartz countertop has not stood up as promised: it has some chips and one join has separated. The warranty has run out with both Home Depot and Valley Countertops, which is disappointing since our countertops are only approximately five years old.If we would ever embark on a large renovation project, we would again consider Home Depot as we know that we could generally rely on the company to pick reputable contractors, organize the work schedule, and do quality checks - while still allowing us to have control over the product choices.
