Penhold RV Park

This campground is a little hidden gem, for sure!!! Although there isn't a ton to do" at the camp site

This is a relatively new, town owned RV Park with gravel roads and newly planted trees.There are a good variety of site sizes, up to 78’ in length.The water and electricity worked well and continuously.One feature that we liked, however we found that others did not, was the ability to make all park arrangements online. The website filters the RV Sites by size to show you which sites are available that will accommodate your rig. Photos and dimensions of the available sites are provided. You then select and book your site.The RV Park is adjacent to the local Rec Centre, however it was closed due to COVID when we were there.You will need to drive for pretty much anything else that you want from this park.

Brian is great, he works hard to keep the park clean. Campground is friendly, quiet, laid back and affordable. The camp sites are also very large.It’ll be nice when the park matures a bit and there are more trees.

I reserved this park so I could attend the Daines Ranch Rodeo this long holiday weekend. (3 days) I realize now I could have dry camped at the rodeo grounds but I needed a shower and prefer hookups. Clean quiet, Safe and 10 min from the rodeo grounds. Couldn’t be happier. I too liked the online booking as I’m from the states.

What a great RV Park! The washroom was spotless, massive fire pits, great sites and a little wetland right behind our site. I would highly recommend. Camp host is so nice too!!

This is a very new campground, opening for its first full season in 2019. While the trees have a lot of growing to do, the sites are appropriately sized, level, and fully serviced. They're doing everything they can to make campers feel welcome and ensure they have all amenities. A beautiful FREE shower and laundry facility helps to wash away grit from a day of fun. About 6 minutes from Red Deer's Gasoline Alley, this is a great, accessible, community campground. Poor reviews are likely due to later than expected grand opening date.

Stayed here a few times. Penhold has some great amenities and the Campground is close to Red Deer and discovery wildlife park in Innisfail. It relatively new, so the trees have yet to mature. The stalls are good, but only every second one has a fire pit. Washrooms are clean and the operator was nice. This Campground will improve as the trees mature. Affordable for full hookups.

Spent 2 nights at the campsite. Grounds were well kept and the bathroom and laundry facilities were spotless. Will definitely be back. Camp manager was excellent . Helped us with getting firewood and telling us about the area. Campsite was excellent to have dogs.

Great city owned campground. We were in site 54 pull thru with 30 amp, water and sewer. It fit all 65 feet of us. No WiFi but cell phone and two data bars allow one to do most of what is needed.Pull through sites only have 30 amp. 50 amp back-in’s are available. Gravel lot that are level. Only slight leveling needed. Nice grassy spot between sites. Fire pits are at every other site as there is an extra charge for those.Booked site online and drove directly to it. Campground host arrived shortly after with information on pizza delivery. Just 2 km back toward the highway is the pizza place, Burger King with gluten free buns, and a liquor store as well as Diesel and regular gas. We got it there before heading to the campground along with food. Made it very convenient. Host is very nice. Nice creek at back of campground.Stopped for a night on way to Calgary Stampede.

We stayed here a month. The park manager harassed us about our animals. Not once did he present nor inform us of the park rules ie: cats need to be leashed. Instead he said “he doesn’t like cats, and we have to go” very unprofessional. Kicked out without warning. He continued to come by our site and ask if we were leaving yet? Even though we had paid to a certain date.Driving 40+ in the campground while intoxicated and a max 15km sign is posted.The site itself is boring. Washrooms are ok. Very loud with all the traffic. Beware of the park manager.I wouldn’t recommend this campground.Many close campground that are well managed to stay at.
