What a book store!! It was my 1st time checking it out while visiting Victoria. The staff are awesome! One could look for literal days at all the books! 2 floors with an escalator. There was an artist in store who was drawing cartoon characters of customers. 1 person is $15, and 2 people in the drawing is $25. Pay street parking. I got the parkvictoria app so I could park close to the store. When I return, this book store will be on the list to visit every time!

This location is across the street from where their much smaller shop used to be. The old shop was great, but this one is just incredible.Two full floors of books - new, used, vintage, rare - gifts, journals, bags, calendars… there’s something for everyone who loves to browse great bookstores.Everyone I encounter at Russell Books is helpful. I’ve never had anyone who felt it was an inconvenience to do their job.I love that they combine used books with the new books and on the back cover of all books is the price. For instance, last summer I bought a gardening book. There were new copies of the book, and used copies. I just decided which one I wanted to buy. I see it as the best of both worlds.I love the vintage children’s books, and Russell Books has a lot to choose from. However, I spotted an Enid Blyton book from the early 1960s, I think it was, ‘The Mountain of Adventure,’ still with dust cover, and it was priced at $195. In a locked cabinet. Born in the UK, I wished I’d kept all my old Enid Blyton books! Lol.They usually have a very good selection of Ladybird children’s books, too, and I always look for the 1960s’ titles and have always been successful. I’m collecting them for my grandchildren. They are also extremely well-priced at Russell’s.So, yet another wonderful book store in Victoria, and located on busy Fort Street, with all of its good shops to also explore.Make sure you have plenty of time to browse and shop. It’s definitely worth your time.

Buyer beware, this place is so good, you will get addicted.As someone who's been buying used books for years now, this is literally the only place where used books were in the exact condition they claimed to be (if not better), and not just an old book with noticeable wear that you had to make yourself believe very good for its age". Their "very good" books had from microscopic to barely noticeable wear.Their collection is humongous

I am so happy that I got quite a few books from there. The price is really great! A lot of authors’ books are available. Also bc of the chance to step in, I finally got book copies of Kafka and starting to reading more recently.

Great selection of books especially hard to find books considering that they are a new and used book store. Staff were great; they were able to bring in a book that I was looking for from the warehouse. They definitely out do chapters.

Still one of the best bookstores in town by virtue of its size, but it's just not the same as it once was. Not to rate it against what it used to be, but it had an atmosphere that was so evocative of a cozy, homey book store (though probably not the fire marshals favorite hangout) and now it just feels like a less sterile Chapters. Still, you'll probably find what you're looking here, so rating it for what it is now instead of what it used to be it's still a solid choice.

We happened upon Russell Books after my cousin highly recommended it. Love the large selection of books and would have loved to buy some,including the large coffee table book on Disneyland. Love that it has two floors with an escalator in it.

Russell books is a big book store with a great variety of books and other item. If you are Victoria it is a must visit. Got a few books at discount as well. Can spend a whole day here.
