My son had a tongue release at this clinic. He has cognitive and behavioral issues and was very anxious about the procedure. All staff were very patient and caring throughout our visit and they managed to get everything done as well as keep my son calm and happy. Way to go!

Highly recommend Dr. Gep. I went to get my daughter (3 months old) assessed for tongue and lip tie. Got an honest opinion. Was told she has a minor tongue tie but not enough to cause breastfeeding issues and that I do not need to get it fixed. I should just keep an eye on it and come back later if I need. I had gone to another place and got some bad advice where I was told over a video consultation without even actually seeing my daughter in person that she should have it fixed. In contrast, Dr. Gep and the LC here checked my daughter's latch and decided it is best we leave it be for now and I come back later if it is affecting other areas of development. Thank you! I highly recommend coming here for an honest opinion. I have no issues getting my daughter's tongue tie fixed IF she really needed it.

Great overall experience. I left feeling more confident in my breastfeeding journey than when I arrived thanks to Marta and Dr. Nguyen.

Dr Emily was so nice with us. She is so kind and patience with my baby. She listened to us very carefully and always mentioned what is she going to do.She did her best for my baby’s tongue tie release.I wish her good luck for the future. She is great. Thanks to her and the team.

Dr. Emily Nguyen was referred by our family doctor. She is extremely friendly and patient, and addressed every concern and question in simplified answers, which made us very comfortable from the get-go. She explained the entire process in detail. The staff was very helpful in meeting our requests for scheduling our visits. It was a positive experience for my son and a seamless procedure.

Dr Emily is a sleazy professional with loose morals who puts profits over ethics. It’s very discouraging to see ‘professionals’ care more about their bottom lines and not their patients.

My wife and I recently visited Dr Emily at her Markham clinic and were very pleased with our experience. Dr Emily and her Lactation Consultant took their time assessing our son and discussing with us their recommendations. Procedure was done same day as consultation and was fast while providing the utmost care for our child. Great practice and great staff - highly recommend.

I took my 1 week old baby to get her tongue tie released. While we were there we were able to talk to Dr. Gep, who explained the procedure and answered any questions we had. She was very professional and empathetic. The tongue tie release went really well and it healed nicely. It was also great having Helen (the lactation consultant) there to address any questions or issues we had regarding breastfeeding. Overall great experience with everybody we interacted with. I highly recommend this clinic.

Dr Emily was absolutely incredible with our 3 month old daughter. She was warm knowledgeable and decisive when it came to helping us make a decision on how to manage our daughters tongue tie and the after care process. Grateful to have had the access to such an amazing specialist. Our daughter was thriving within days after the procedure and we are forever grateful.

For your child’s well-being, please do not go to any provider/specialist of lasertots/geptots if you are concerned about a tongue tie. This is not to discourage you if you are reading this and are concerned about your child’s well-being, but I would highly suggest going to a provider who doesn’t financially benefit from doing releases (your OHIP covered providers is who you should go to). I am a first time mom who was concerned about my son and him breastfeeding for long durations at a time. I decided to do some research and to look for a Paediatric Dentist upon a family friend’s recommendation as they dealt with a tongue tie issue with their baby. I found Dr. Emily through a google search and their website Geptots. Gave them a call in the morning and was asked if I could come in the day of. I went into our initial appointment with my son and he was diagnosed by Dr. Emily as having a “posterior tongue tie” along with having a “tight” jaw. They were quick to offer to do the release there and then (first red flag) and then refer us to a chiropractor to do “bodywork”. They said I could either do the release first and then bodywork or do the body work and then assess if I want to do the release later. Dr. Emily also took pictures of the “tongue tie” and did not bother explaining why she did this. Of course, I should have done my due diligence and ask why however, a professional would explain before doing so (second red flag).After much concern and multiple visits to the chiropractor they recommended, we asked our family doctor for a second opinion. Our family doctor referred us to a lactation consultant and a paediatrician who did a thorough assessment and concluded there was no concerns and my son does not have a tongue tie (baby has rounded tongue, tongue sticks out, latches fine (with proper positioning of course which seemed to be our cause of long duration of breastfeeding).This misdiagnosis could have cost me hundreds of dollars and no guarantee from Dr. Emily that this could help with breastfeeding along with discomfort and pain for my son for a unnecessary procedure.If you see the responses of Geptots/lastertots to other 1-star reviews, those reviews are replied with defensiveness and putting the blame on parents, this should be another red flag to consider before contacting them. Again, I do not want to discourage anyone who has concerns of a tongue tie, please reach out if you are concerned but please do your due diligence and do not go to Geptots/lasertots for this matter.
