Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
Virtually the entire trail is a boardwalk, which makes it one of the most accessible trails I've been on. It is a beautiful easy walk with lots of shade in the earlier part of the day.

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
Really nice and easy (short; 20 mins there and 20 mins back strolling) trail on boardwalk. Nice mix of eco zones and trees. Especially nice seeing the white cedars. Spent a couple of hours walking and having lunch under the covered picnic area. Good washroom facilities as well.

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
Beautiful wetland interpretative trail with well maintained boardwalk. This trail is easy enough for all abilities to complete. Lots of signage to teach you about the environments, common plants, and how they were used by the native people. Dogs are not permitted on this trail. Can get really buggy during mosquito season.

NO DOGS, NO BIKES....Woulda been nice to know you can't have dogs or bikes... Just drove half hour with my dog and kid for a nice afternoon walk so my kid could ride his balance bike only to find no bikes, no dogs.... Super lame...

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
This is such a gorgeous trail. Super easy, and the boardwalk makes it wheel chair friendly. I have never been on a trail that smelled so amazing. This is also a wonderful trail if you like to read about wildlife. If you are driving by it is worth the stop!

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
Lovely trail, beautiful and easy family and wheelchair friendly. Bathrooms were clean and a picnic area is available. I wish the signage for the trail was a little bit bigger as is easy to pass by on your way to Grand Beach.

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
The Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail is a short trail through a beautiful forest, located approximately 45 minutes north of Winnipeg.I hiked here most recently on April 19, 2020 and it’s always a great place to enjoy nature! The trail follows along flat boardwalks the entire way and leads through a peaceful pine and cedar tree forest and a couple of open marshy areas. The trail finishes at a dead end and then you continue back to the trailhead along the same route. It was short and easy. There were benches for sitting along the way and plenty of good photo opportunities of the natural scenery. It was very peaceful and beautiful! There were signs on the boardwalk along the way pointing out different plants and herbs that the Indigenous people use for medicinal and ceremonial purposes and information about the history of the Indigenous culture which was interesting. The first gravel section of the trail was ice covered and snowy, and very slippery, so I walked along the edge of the trail. The boardwalks were mostly dry and free of snow. There was a gate across the road entrance to the parking lot with a sign that read the trail is still open but to hike at your own risk due to COVID-19. There was a small gravel area for parking in front of the gate or along the side of the highway. It was not busy when I visited and I only passed a few people.Walking here was a relaxing and educational experience in a peaceful atmosphere. It was worth the drive and I would recommend going here.I only wish the trail was longer as it was really pretty and I would have loved to enjoy more of it!

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
This a great easy walk to see a high-quality variety of orchid. It is wheel chair accessible! The signage is very small as you're traveling north on 59 from Winnipeg. There is only one sign about a kilometer from the turnoff it is about a kilometer before Highway 12. If you get to Highway 12 turn off you have gone too far.

Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail
What a lovely trail. The signage was so great to learn more about the plants. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, and benches. This trail is good for all ages and physical abilities. We went after the flood and it was pretty dry compared to other trails this time of year.
