We were all in shock when we received our bill. Each of us made adjustments to our pasta without knowing we will be charged for them. Not one peep from the waiter. 3$ to replace bell peppers with mushrooms. 2$ cuz we asked to make sure the pasta is saucy. I could buy a whole carton of mushrooms for 3$. He at least informed us the Parmesan is extra charge but in what world is that normal??? I’ve never dined in at such a cheap place in my life. Not generous, not truthful, and not even good. We all had leftovers and we all left it there. My sliced steak had a weird old taste and my friends steak was dry. Never ever coming back.

Their chilli saffron steak was really delicious/tender & not bland tasting at all! I would definitely revisit to try their wide variety of steaks.

Ordered the Steak with Peppers as you can see in the picture I got like one pepper and so much sauce which was disgusting had to scrap it off. I asked for Caesar Salad no Bacon. Was so confused when the waitress showed up with a bowl of lettuce. She said the bacon was in the dressing. Was also confused about the bacon since it's supposed to be a Halal" restaurant. I asked if there was another dressing and she looked at me and said nope. My bill for the steak the shrimp and garlic bread was $78 that's insane!!! Over priced. The worst part of it all I got the worst stomach ache. Not sure if it was from the sauce on the steak or the shrimp. The point is I will not be coming back. Also customer service was terrible seemed like they all wanted to go home which was funny since the restaurant opens at 4 and closes at 9."

We got there around 8, and they were able to accommodate us without reservations, which was nice. The food took a long time, and the table after us got served before us with the same items we ordered. which was upsetting, but once the food arrived, it was presentable and tasty.We ordered Bisteca Fingui with chicken breast and saffron poutine. Also Steak Penne PiccanteI had a different idea for the saffron poutine, but it was ok. Overall food was nice.I would like to request them to ask the guest in the same order they seat them and also after serving do come and ask incase we need to get something instead of raising our hand for 5mins like we're in school.

Stopped by Kara Mia with my friend who only eats halal. What an impressive little spot. Special menu for Ramadan consisted of steak and chicken, phenomenal pasta and soup and salad.Inquired if they will be opening a spot in Waterloo anytime soon and they said no but they are opening one in Mississauga. Would go to again soon.

Wow, must visit restaurant for Italian food in Ottawa. Food is delicious and quantity is also good. I really enjoyed the food and the restaurant atmosphere. Highly recommend it for anyone who loved Italian foods. Loved it and kudos to the management for maintaining a top quality restaurant in Ottawa

This is my second time at this restaurant. The first time was better even though I ordered similar dishes. The sauce is good but you feel it is missing a spice that can elevate it to the next level the chicken was very weird I felt like I am eating canned chicken it was flaky. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. The prices are reasonable. I would give it another try.

Ottawa finally got halal Italian/Steak cuisine. I’ve tried Kara Mia in Toronto plenty of times and this was my first time here in Ottawa. Ambiance at this restaurant was lovely, dark interior, accent lightning all around.Onto the food, we tried different pasta/ chicken and I would say some dishes are tastier than others. Saffron poutine is definitely a staple item on their menu, highly recommend! Peppercorn chicken lacked seasoning and was bland. The Cajun pasta wasn’t spicy but at least it had plenty of sauce.Service was spot on! They were vigilant and food came out quickly after order. The staff was very nice.Overall, it’s worth checking out.
