Route 14 Sooke
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing!! For something that does not look like very much on the outside. The food was amazing. There was gluten-free and dairy-free options, which I was shocked to see in such a small town. I absolutely loved the drinks, the service, the atmosphere, everything. There is a beautiful little mini patio outside. The inside decor is very vintage posters, beautiful wood and absolutely stunning.

Charging halibut prices for haddock. Cold double fried fries. Raw dough on haddock. Fry oil tasted burnt. I recommend ANYWHERE else for authentic fish and chips.

Everything was wonderful. The staff and even other customers were very friendly giving it a homey feel and you're one of the locals.The calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly. Delicious and tender and the muscles were plump and delicious. Every muscle was grade A and not a bad one in the bowl

This place is an average roadhouse menu with average food and average service.I had a salad and paid for the addition of grilled chicken. The salad was 70% croutons. Cheap carbs. When it came to the chicken, it was less than an ounce. It tasted fine but was not very satiating.My friend’s salad was very light on protein as well (goat cheese).Sooke has really limited food options, surprising given it’s supposed to be a tourist draw. This place might be one of the better places in a place full of average

Our family decided to come her for dinner recently. They all had the prawn fettuccine and I had the fish and chips. Even though the food tasted ok , the fish was overly battered and the fettuccine had a weird taste to it most likely because of the olives in there. Service was fast , place was clean and being the main pub/ restaurant in town it was quite busy.

Chowder was a Wow! Among the top 5 I've ever enjoyed. Great job.Also shared a roast beef dip with my wife. Beef was tender, but the sandwich needed something to take it up to next level and match the chowder.

This would have been a five-star rating if we hadn't come back for the second meal. We first ate here on a Wednesday evening. There were many interesting menu items. I was surprised that the haddock was fresh (not frozen) so we tried the fish and chips and ordered a side of broccolini and carrot puree. The fish was amazingly fresh, cooked just right, the fries were enjoyable. Even the coleslaw was good. Since we had intended to order the Arctic Char and ended up with fish and chips, we came back on Friday to tried the Arctic Char. Unfortunately, they were all sold out. And since the fresh haddock was great, we ordered that again. But the second time around, we might as well have been in a totally different restaurant. The fish was very over cooked to the point of being tough, even the fries were wooden and overcooked. So, now, this place is a hit and miss thing for us. Well, definitely, we won't come on a Friday.

Just tried the Tuna Nicoise and just fabulous! Blew me away with the presentation and taste… wish I’d didn’t have to drive back or the patio would have been perfect for a beer!!

Pretty good pub food! I recommend the fish and chips as well as the seafood chowder!
