Hertz Car Rental - Richmond Hill - 10414 Yonge Street HLE

Hey helpful staffEdit: please note that i really do like hertz usually, you have a great service normally.However, the 4 star is because of the crude and very unfriendly treatment we received when we picked up our car at your airport location, from one of the employees at the counter. The other employee next to him seemed to be very helpful and answered all questions he was asked by other customers, but the employee to served us was very business like, very dry and didn't offer any useful information. He didn't even bother to give any info regarding gas, tolls, insurance, etc. The info you normally get at other car rental services.

Rented here once and had a pleasant experience. They made me wait about 20 minutes after pickup time to hand over the keys, but besides that, I had no issues.

I picked up a car rental from another Hertz location to drop at this one, and Sujeev was helpful in ensuring I had the right information, since they modified their hours due to COVID. He gave me a call the day before drop off to notify me of these hours, and made sure the drop-off process was smooth, which I really appreciated. I would rent from this location again!

They take your money. Cancel your reservation and then they don’t refund all the money. Worst customer experience I’ve ever had.

Very pleasant experience with this Hertz location! I'm surprised it has so many negative reviews. Courteous staff and prompt service. We had rented a standard car for Holidays in 2018, and we already booked the same for this year. I hope we will not be disappointed. Keep up the good work!

They are CROOKS, AVOID!!I rented a car from Hertz at this location in Richmond Hill for a total of 9 weeks.The car broke down during the rental period and I had to take it to a local garage for a temporary repair.I took the car back to Hertz at the same location to exchange for another car when I returned to Richmond Hill.I swapped for a replacement car to carry on with the rental agreement.My credit card was debited the full amount half way before the rental period finished which was unusual. Then the same amount was taken out from my card the day after I returned the replacement car. I was told I would be given an invoice the day I finished the hire but that never came.I was effectively charged twice for the same rental transaction of the 9 weeks.Customer Service in Hertz is disgraceful!The staff at the hire location made no attempt to help me.The manager there simply gave me their customer billing telephone number for me to file a complaint.The customer Service and billing information telephone numbers are constantly blocked.Many attempts later I got through to the billing department and I had to press the person to give me a case reference for the complaint as she was unwilling to comply.Eventually I was given partial refunds rather than a full refund. I was out of pocket over 700 Canadian Dollars. I pursued this matter further by email with their customer service but no explanation and reason was given why this amount is retained. They simply said that there will be no further refund.I was made to feel that it was a favour they had done to have let me swap the car for a replacement and that I was able to make use of the car which I paid rent for.They never refunded me the cost of the repair although I did give them the invoice from the garage. Or have they apologised for the inconvenience of the break down and the aggro the whole thing has caused me.So you have been warned.

I recently rented a Dodge Grand Caravan. The vehicle was ready for me to pick up at the arranged time, and I was dealt with promptly and with friendly courtesy. The minivan was a current model (2019), but not quite in pristine state. Nonetheless, at the price point and considering that unlimited km are included, it was excellent value. I'm quite surprised at the negative reviews for this location - they made me a bit wary going into the transaction, but I was very happy with my experience.

Hertz is THE WORST rental car in the entire Canada. My visiting sister from UK rented a SUV from Sep 1 to Nov 3 for $3,200. The car was dirty to begin with, both inside & out, the key said it's low in battery and the Bluetooth was full. SUV broke down on Oct 12, overheated with a rupture pipe. Got it fixed for $40 (Hertz refused to pay back). Took the SUV back to the shop the next day and had a replacement car. They called it a Transfer Exchange. Same contract, same price, same duration.Credit card was charged on Oct 4 for the full amount and charged again on Nov 3 when she returned the 2nd car. Sujeev the manager agreed that was a double charge and filed a request for refund. A month later, there was no refund and no other communication whatsoever. Called Sujeev and he said nothing else he could do, told us the file a compliant. Called customer service and after a few holds and transfers, finally talked to Nidia, a young girl located in El Salvador, who spoke poor English and with subpar telephone manner. She insisted it was 2 separate contracts and hence 2 separate charges. Nothing was mentioned about a refund request from Sujeev. After explaining for an hour and presented her with all the contracts as proofs, she finally agree to escalate. She would not give us a escalation number until we pressed her again and again. And she told us to call back in 5-7 business days for a reply"
