There is plenty of parking, a walking stick holder to borrow a stick. The main trail is fabulous, the dogs loved it. Cute little pavilion to stop for a break. Well marked trails. The secondary trails are not cared for which is unfortunate.

Lovey trails. Easy hiking. Very important to park on Concession Rd 3 (avoid concessions rd 4). The trails are well marked, with lots of informational signs. Bring bug spray.

Fairly big lot. Takes you straight to the trails. Better than the road cut cuts thru the middle of the trail system

Beautiful trails, great walks. HOWEVER, A LOT of ticks. We have been removing ticks from our dogs for 2 days already (they have their meds) and ourselves. Stay protected.

Beautiful real old growth forest. Avoid getting your vehicle stuck in the mud and do not drive on concession rd 4! Half the road really should be shut down.

Norfolk County: Fall Colours at Backus WoodsBackus Woods is one of the oldest Carolinian forests in Canada (really old and tall trees the eye cant see when one looks up and really big diameter trees one cant even embrace).This is how nature is and should be: untouched so all inhabitants of the ecosystem co-exist.This was a hike with the Toronto Bruce Trail Club.

Not a huge lot, but I've never had a problem getting a space here. If it's full, try parking in the north parking lot. If you're planning on bringing a picnic, park here; the lot's not too far from some covered benches.

Fantastic hikes through the woods but I can't emphasize enough the advice others have given about avoiding concession rd 4 (which is the route that Google will point you to if you enter Backus Woods" as your destination). We were among the hapless who got bogged on that road
