We just needed a place to stop overnight. It wasn't busy but it was raining! Site 13 is good, it has some shade and sun and overlooks the beach and Kootenay Lake beyond. The current charge for a site is 28$ and, unlike other municipal sites, they charge you for taking a shower 2$. You can get a wheelbarrow full of wood for 20$. The site is in a beautiful location but the amenities need updating. At 28$ a night we would expect level sites, a decent toilet and shower block and not have to pay for showers! However, we had a pleasant overnight and the camp host is lovely.

What a fantastic turnaround.....Last year my wife and I spent 10 days at the campground. Our experience was less than satisfactory, but because of its sheer beauty and proximity to the most amazing lake in BC, we returned for another week this year. The astronomical difference for us this year was the campground host. Lucia is amazing, She greeted us with enthusiasm, she was efficient in her transactions, she was aware and attentive to the needs of her campers and she kept the place up to a standard that was unseen in our previous experience. On a day of particular bad weather, Lucia went to every camper and notified them of the warnings and encouraged each to put up their awnings and secure all their belongings.Thank you to the Riondel Community for responding to the concerns from last year and hiring such a great host to represent a great campground. We are already looking forward to our return next summer and sincerely encourage the society to extend Lucia's contract should she be interested in continuing as the best campground host that we have experienced at the Riondel Campground.

Love this sweet, relaxed, family/ dog friendly campground. Within walking distance to the village of Riondel with some nice private coves nearby.

Campsites are too close together and small, nice sized beach but just rocks no sand.

Large beach that doesn’t feel crowded. Within walking distance of the grocery store for snacks and drinks. Good walking trail network for getting around. Had an amazing time!

Great campground. Camp sites are spaced well enough that you don't feel crowded. Has flush toilets and showers (bonus). There are water taps throughout the campground so you don't have far to haul your water jugs, no power hooks ups though. All sites have a firepit and a picnic table. There are a couple of tent platforms but those sites don't have fire pits. You can get ice and firewood from the office, and can rent canoes and kayaks. Lots of trees in the campground.
