Very terrible staff, lazy when fixing issue like broken water tap, leaking in the bathroom(8 times notice for 6 months for same problem), rude when trying to kick you out as soon as you determine to leave.Poor condition in Ventilation. Cockroach and even rats in Summer. Again, no effective action is taken after notice.Cheap but nightmare.

I have lived at Alta vista for two years and I have nothing but horrible experiences. First off the management are rude and a nightmare to deal with. Secondly, in the last 6 months they’ve had to spray my unit twice for bedbugs and have reoccurring issues with plumbing that has had the water being shut off for up to 3 days. Not only that the units are garbage. Don’t rent here. Trust me you’ll find a better and you deserve better.

Staffs are very rude always with a grampy looks. My wife always tries to avoid to talk with office staffs for anythings since they have angry tones and are not approachable. Windows leak air as if you feel the rooms are refrigerators and you need to bundle up yourselves in your rooms for getting worm. Talked several times about the heating, ironically staff said room heating is ok but tenants don't find the heatings are ok.

Just moved out never been happier to move. Building is disgusting and outdated. Riddled with roaches on every floor. Had a pool that didn't open once in the two years I lived there. Got charged several hundred dollars to replace the carpet and was given no proof it was done and I wouldn't put it past this place to cheap out on repairs and over charge the walls are covered in painted over holes and dents. When I moved in my bathrooms ventilation was so stuffed with dust I had to scrap it off. Not to mention the hole in the wall right next to the tub. If you have issues with mould definitely skip this place the interiors of the walls are certainly covered.Tldr don't live here the building is disgusting and infested with roaches. Management does nothing to help any of the residents

Don't come here unless you're a fan of roaches. Can't even type the word without cringing. Unhealthy, unclean environment. Even with DOZENS of picture proof, they deny it. They have been reported to the City already. Can't wait until something is done about this.

Now that I'm moving out I'm so glad to be able to post a review warning others from this terrible apartment building. As a fun final surprise, with no notice we had the maintenance man show up this morning at 8am to trade out our old counter for a new one. No 24hrs notice. Keep in mind we have to finish our cross country move and this has delayed things for us significantly.Other issues: really inadequate amount of snow cleaning in the winter (the plow guy shows up whenever and the tenants are never informed of the time), poor insulation (which they try to make up for by putting masking tape on all the windows), roaches, and the worst group of office staff you will ever meet. Office staff are unhelpful, rude, and the answer to most questions is I don't know".It's been a truly awful 2 years of living here and I'm really looking forward to leaving."

Lived here for three years. Had a bug problem when I moved in but I told the staff and they had an exterminator in the next day, and didn't have a problem since. Always had fast service if anything was out of order, usually the same or next day a repair person would come. Apartments are old and cold af in the winter, but they give residents heaters, and electricity is included so had no problem plugging in heaters.Four stars because it needs some serious updating, windows, doors ect. Staff is a bit cold at first but the longer you stay the nicer they are. Get an apartment higher up so you don't have to listen to traffic as much.Good prices for the location.

Been living here for over two years and haven't had too much trouble, the staff are nice enough and maintenance is willing to help out with a lot and gets things done quickly. I've never had issues with bed bugs but the building has. However I'm really unhappy about the change to 24/7 paid visitor parking, especially since in the winter if your spot is being plowed you have no where to put your car without paying and it can take upwards of 20 minutes for them to get it done. And don't leave your car there even just for a minute to go to the bathroom or you might get a ticket..They try to raise your rent yearly just because they can.Also don't expect a sense of community here, I had emergency surgery, spent some time in the hospital, and when I got home the water was off for 8 hours and the staff wouldn't even bring me some water so I could take my meds.

If you have any kind of respatory issues DO NOT live here. Our family had asthma problems the moment we moved in and the disappeared after we moved out. The ventilation is never cleaned and whether you see them or not the are roaches in every apartment. As we were leaving they removed the counter to replace it and the whole underside was COATED in roach droppings even though we kept it clean and did not see any. Any repairs you get done are fast and poorly done. The office staff was always helpful.

One of the worst buildings in Ottawa!!! Service is terrible ( good luck having service elevator on for moving out ). Superintendant is there to make money with lots of attitude and not to help u . Ground floor always smells like garbage. Would neverrrrrrr recommend anyone this place dont do the same mistake as me and pay the extra 200$ a month for a place you will be comfortable in !
