Yoko-sensei is amazing. I have been trying to learn Japanese by myself for a while, but her teachings have truly made the experience joyful and more meaningful. I can finally make sentences and I just always feel like I have learned so much after a lesson.She is thoughtful, caring and as I already said amazing. I don't know what I would do without her as my teacher.

Yoko Irisawa has been enriching the cultural landscape of Halifax for many years.Many students of the Japanese language can attest to this, along with the exposure to Japanese culture which she offers as well.Yoko herself is a very creative and accomplished teacher and presenter;which is why many of her long time and returning students appreciate her so dearly.

Yoko is a fantastic teacher! I have been so impressed with her knowledge and her ability to keep her students engaged. Yoko creates a welcoming and positive learning environment that challenges but does not intimidate. My child and their friend look forward to their lessons with pleasure. The lessons were a bright spot during the pandemic when Yoko still managed to teach them with energy and joy. We are so pleased with Yoko's classes and very happy to recommend her.

Terrific Japanese teacher for students of all levels of knowledge. Been learning from her for over a year and she’s very kind and patient and my skills have grown enormously thanks to her. You’d be good to go whether you’re starting with zero knowledge or already are comfortable in Japanese. A+ teacher.

Happy and positive environment to learn Japanese. Yoko is very generous, thoughtful and an excellent teacher. I know she helps students of all levels and very passionate about her work. I sometimes struggle to understand what we are working on and yoko is very good at working with me to make sense of what I am saying or writing. Breaking down the grammer, structure of a sentence and helping me use it in everyday conversation.
