Hillside Motel

I stayed here a few weeks ago. Horrible experience. There was a storm and we waited 2 hours for them to clear the parking lot so we could park in front of our room. They left the plow blocking off 3 spaces and we asked if they could move the plow so we could park next to our room so we could smoke in the car and not have to cross the parking lot in a storm.The owners son told us if he had to move the plow, he wasn't going to help us in the morning. Completely unnecessary and aggressive for him to say that.The owner came over to talk to us and was relatively nice. His son saw this and stormed over to yell at us and call us childish for complaining.I felt incredibly threatened and unsafe all night.I asked for a 50% refund the next morning and he told me that the room was fine, I had to pay the full amount and it didn't matter if we were abused.Unsafe, do not recommend.

Rooms clean, good area. Had small coffee maker,(Tim's was close) we stayed house, friend stayed in motel part. Noisey ppl upstairs. Owner very friendly, superintendent, Brian, both were friendly and helpful. Made sure we had everything.

Stayed for 2 nights and was very comfortable. The rates very reasonable. The rooms are very clean. Tha staff were friendly and accommodating I would recommend Hillside as one of my 1st choices

I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. First, the owner was super friendly and went out of his way to help me out with my stay. I stayed in the family suite that is basically a small apartment. It has 2 queen beds and a full kitchen. The building appears to be pretty old but I believe it's relatively recently renovated. I'll most definitely be checking here first for availability next time I'm staying in the area.

Such a cute place to stay in Saint John. The owner was super nice and friendly. The room was clean and adorable. Would have liked little shampoos because I forgot mine but not a deal breaker. And the driveway into the site is a little steep but overall a great stay.

The owners are amazing! The room was very clean . We showed up with our dogs and they welcomed us with open arms even though they had no more animal friendly rooms!Thank you very much Hillside Motel!

Don’t let the outward appearance fool you. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff is outstanding. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Was a great inexpensive Hotel to stay. Owner was very accommodating and helpful. One of the few hotels that accept dogs as guests. Rates reasonable, room had all my required amenities and bed was comfortable.
