Happy Hounds Dog Training

Stephanie came to help us with our dog’s leash reactivity. Before Stephanie showed up our dog would lunge and bark at other dogs, birds, and bunnies making walking her super unpleasant. Stephanie spent time with us and our dog to assess her triggers, and then gave us easy to follow steps to help. It has only been a couple weeks since starting the training but we are seeing great progress and walks are already much more enjoyable.We would highly recommend her services!

Definitely recommend Stephanie if you are in search of a dog trainer! She guided me through exercises that I can do with my puppy to make him less reactive. She practiced the exercises and made sure I was doing them correct before she left. I am already seeing positive results from her training methods and am so pleased with my dogs behavior and mine. She is worth her pricing and the one on one atmosphere in your own house really adds to the experience. So thankful I reached out to her!

When we first reached out to Steph we thought we had a rescue that hated being on leash. Through working with Steph we have learned that our pup easily became over stimulated by the noises outside leading her to shut down during walks.Through Steph’s compassion, patient teaching approach, and suggestions we are now able to get our pup to engage with us on walks and walk on loose leash in only 4 weeks time. We love working with Steph and especially love seeing our pup become more secure and confident outside. Cannot recommend her service more!

I cannot recommend Stephanie enough! Since we first reached out to her needing help training our newly adopted German Shepherd puppy, Brooks, we have been nothing but impressed. We went from being stressed and having no idea what we were doing, to becoming confident that Brooks would soon become the dog we've always wanted. Stephanie helped alleviate our concerns and gave us the support and direction we needed to begin training. Having a large breed we wanted to ensure Brooks was well trained and with Stephanie's guidance we're well on our way. Not only did she help us work through teaching different commands and reinforcing desirable behaviour, but also taught us how to prevent behaviours such as resource guarding from emerging later on. Her training methods are easy to learn, incredibly effective and most importantly positive. After one training session our dog was already much better behaved on his walks and if we used her techniques on the walk he wouldn't bark at the other dogs passing by. We signed up our 3 month old puppy Boaz (Vizla/mini Aussie) for virtual private training once a week for 7 weeks. Stephanie was well prepared with a fully inclusive course load. We covered recall, leave it, leash pressure training, social skills, kennel training, great grooming tips and teaching our puppy to want to walk beside us. Stephanie was so good at going at our pace, answering all of our questions and sending us her program, and videos of what we went over weekly. It was so thorough and clear that Stephanie has had extensive experience with dogs and training. Our puppy is now 6 months old and were and continue to be blown away with his progress. This training program has been the foundation of his future. I highly recommend Stephanie and am so grateful for her as we now have the tools to help Bo become the best, most obedient version of himself!

Stephanie helped with Amy, our foster dog from BARCS Rescue, when we were at a loss of how to calm her reactivity and pulling. Amy would jump, bark, pull and try everything to get out of her harness and leash when we walked passed anything that moved; she even pulled us down to the ground a few times. After meeting with Stephanie she gave us some great tools to work with and we started seeing immediate changes in Amy. Amy is such a smart, wonderful dog but shelter life is hard and Stephanie taught us some impulse control tricks and the importance of relaxing the leash to help Amy relax.Stephanie understand dogs and exactly what works to help them work through issues to become the dog we all want! We had our second session with Stephanie and she worked with us on loose leash and heel walking. Amy was able to follow the rules very fast, and with practice we’ll soon be able to enjoy our walks. Stephanie also helped with some tips to get Amy to let us know when she needs to go outside using a bell. Our dogs loved her and she has such a gentle, fun way with, them they want to learn! I would HIGHLY recommend Stephanie to anyone in need of help with their pup.

I heard a wonderful podcast between Stephanie and the host, and related to her on a personal level that’s what first caught my attention. Knowing she loves to get her dog outdoors and I wanted the same for me and my pooch, I needed to find out more about her services. After watching YouTube videos I knew she could help. My pup has some behavioural challenges and she has the expertise to help fix or manage those. She IS my hero! My family was struggling to stay sane. She fit us in and it’s been magic since. She’s knowledgeable, kind, patient and super cool. She has grown up with dogs and trainers around, so you can trust that she loves what she does and wants the best for you and your dog. She emails your training plans the next day so you can print them off and follow along. You can email with follow up questions and she’ll respond. I NOW have faith that our dog will be best version of himself with her help. And maybe she’ll train us along the way! Because lets honest dog parents also need the training LOL

We are so glad we found Stephanie!! We were feeling defeated and hopeless with some of our training goals for our dogs and she came in and set a plan in place for us to follow!
