Update - 20/01/2023My patio door was not closing square. I emailed the company and Tanya F. replied saying she would get back to me after confirming a date with Alex. That email was dated November 10, 2022. It's still radio silence from them.Read all the bad reviews about this company, they are the majority of customer experiences. They just don't care. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. You don't need this in your life. I would rather pay more for a door from another contractor than have to deal with these people ever again.Update - 30/06/2022The owner reached out to me personally as they were out of the office for a long period of time. They apologized and stated that this kind of thing should have never happened. I finally got real answers and my door installed within a week of the phone call. Overall I'm happy with the patio door quality.-------------I was told my door would be installed in December 2021. That was what was said to me in October 2021. Since then, I have been told:-We're very busy, we will call you in two weeks, and-We're down to only one crew, that's why we didn't call for installation, and-Call you in two weeks for installation (no call), and-I will set a reminder to call you in two weeks for an update (no call), and-You actually don't have the door you told me you had in stock.Tanya F constantly lies and gaslights over the phone and does the company a great disservice. I asked to speak to the owner otherwise I would cancel my order. Within minutes of that email, Tanya F had replied that she is cancelling the order.It seems the owner is completely disconnected from daily operations and is unreachable.BEWARE, STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I placed an order for 14 windows in February 2022, they installed 13 of them in June 2022, they never got to me with the missing window (order placed in February 2022). They first claimed the window was in the storage at the factory, and it would be a matter of days before it would be installed. They then told me that the window was not even manufactured by the factory, and one year later, the window is not installed. They installed a window (out of the 13 they installed) with a defect, they claimed that they ordered a replacement with the factory since it was in warranty, it never got installed and the secretary changed the explanation for the delay every time I called her. By the way, they do not take your call, they let it go to an answering machine, claiming they are super busy. I gave them a deposit for a front door and patio doors, and after that they went silent. The owner does not reply to emails, or the emails bounce back altogether. They gave me delivery dates in Fall, they did not obey by them, always having to call many times to get an update from them. I asked for a refund of my deposit, and the owner is not answering any calls or emails.

SCAM ALERTCapital Comfort Windows and Doors is a scam- Buyer BEWARE.I ordered my windows 14 month ago. The owner, Alex Blustone, visited my house at the time of the signing of the contract and requested a deposit of $3,300 to order the windows. He informed me that he would accept CASH ONLY. I never received an invoice for my deposit or a receipt. There was no contact from the company following receipt of the money. After 11 months of no contact, and no windows, I was forced to place an order for the same windows from a different company. My deposit was never returned. Finally, after endless attempts at communication with Capital Comfort Windows and Doors, voicemails I left. After my complaints to the company , the installer working for the company contacted me for a shake down. He offered to install the new windows for a cost (directly to him) in the sum of 2,700 and request CASH only. In a moment of sheer desperation, I paid him $2000 up front. He made endless promises (via text) and phone calls that the word would be completed. He lied on several occasions. This work is for my cottage, up north, 500 Kilometers away. I took time off of work and drove in hazardous conditions because he assured me he would be there last weekend. HE NEVER SHOWED UP. The windows are not installed and my cottage is suffering from water damage. He has completely absconded with my money and didn’t lift a finger complete the work I PAID for. Both the owner of the company and the help he employs as installers are thieves, swindlers and straight up liars. Their actions will be reported to the Better Business Bureau and the Canada Revenue Agency.

Never deal with this companyI ordered a door from them in June 2022 and paid $3000 in cash as a deposit , they promised that they will deliver in 2 Months, I kept calling to inquire about my door , every time they were saying it’s in production and it will be some delay, In December 2022 the Owner Alex came in and he said he is very sorry for the delay and he will make sure the delivery to be in time and promised again it will be end of February 2023, until now I didn’t get the door, I went two weeks ago to the new office location to find out that the order of door wasn’t even placed for production with the manufacturer, this company is a scam, I will be going to court to get my deposit back, I have a signed contract with them.Don’t deal with this company

Only giving one Star because I have to, otherwise, I would give it -5 stars. This is the worst company!! Stay away!. My neighbour and I went into together to get new windows and after we accepted the quotes for our respective properties, we paid our deposits in June 2022. In October 2022 we were informed that our salesperson Michael Gur was fired for fraud. We were also informed that there was a backlog in getting our windows and that they would stop advertising until Feb 2023 to clear the backlog (which they did not) and they would set up a mechanism to inform/ update customers something we have never had to do before". It is the middle of Feb 2023 I have been calling the company for 2 weeks for an update on the status of my windows. The receptionist Valentina has no clue and unable to access the database to find the status of my order. Alex Bluestone is too busy to call his customers back and to top it all off

Super disappointing experience with this company. I ordered 2 windows and a patio door in July 2021 and was told they’d be ready end of Sept. They were not so my new backyard office sat with a hole in the wall until mid November when they were able to get a patio door installed. That install went fine and I was just happy my building no longer had a hole in it with no door!However, when we finally had the windows installed on May 30th 2022 it was an absolute disaster. They installed the wrong window (I have 2 emails confirming my order and the window installed doesn’t match my order). The installation crew told me several times they spoke to the owner about it and he would be in touch with me soon to resolve the issue.The evening of install when I went to check out the windows (I wasn’t available to go take a look immediately after install) I saw the caulking/ trim job was horribly done. The trim was/ is literally hanging half an inch off the wall and there are huge gaps in all the caulking. They also left the place a complete mess. I had taped plastic tarps over my furniture to protect it during install and half the tarps were on the floor and my belongings completely covered in metal shards and construction dust. I had to throw out about $100 worth of toiletries and medical supplies that could not be wiped down properly. There were several golf ball size splotches of dried caulking on my floor, and one on my new couch. My electrical was hanging off the wall and had to be repaired. It took 5 hours to clean the place up (2 done by a professional cleaner) and it’s only 100 sq ft!Through June I waited on a call from Alex regarding the wrong window, and planned to bring up these additional issues with him then. Frankly I was dreading having them come back and do further work as I didn’t want a repeat of the damage done the first time around. By July I still hadn’t received a call, then 2 weeks ago during a rainstorm water started POURING in from the top of the “wrong” window. My floor was soaked and I’ve had to tape a tarp up to cover the window and prevent more damage. I emailed Tanya at this point and told her Alex still had not contacted me. Tanya informed me that he is “very forgetful” and that he was out of town but would contact me when he returned. She also said I needed to pay the final payment instalment (ie pay for the window that they installed that I did not order and that was flooding my house during rain) before anyone would deal with the issue. I told her I would not be paying for a window I did not order and to have Alex call me directly. That was over 2 weeks ago and I still haven’t heard from anyone. At this point I’ve given up and have begun contacting other companies to have someone else come fix this window so at the very least I’m not dealing with leaks every time it rains.I cannot in good conscience recommend doing business with this company.

Have been waiting a year and a half for a window that never arrived. They could never give us a date or tell us the window was even manufactured. After many calls and emails I reached the owner who point blank told me they are bankrupt and have no money to order my window. The owner told me I would have to take him to court to get my deposit back. We came to an agreement that he would provide me with a similar sized window for my contractor to install but he never showed up. I have all of this recorded. I have filed a police report as this is fraud.

Made a deposit in June 2022 for a patio door to be installed within 1-2 months max after a visit by the owner himself and a good on-site conversation. Aleksander Bluestone seemed like a solid businessman, but the company reception/manager has been unable to properly communicate status updates. 5 months later and we are still without a patio despite clearly mentioning our need for a better door to protect our newborn in the winter. The company phone never gets answered and now their emails get bounced back as undeliverable along with a suspended BBB rating. Honestly did not figure that Aleksander would stoop so low as to not even a courtesy response to the client after failing to meet on their promises. Hoping there is still some decency and dignity there for Aleksander to take accountability and make things right.Update: Alex finally responded and honoured to return the deposit, making sure to note that he did not have to do that in accordance with the contract he never provided. Although grateful that at least the deposit was returned, I have zero confidence in restarting any relationship with this company, given that Alex disregarded the timing of the meet after setting it himself and despite knowing I have a newborn to look after. Lack of punctuality continued after he failed to show for an hour and then called with another set of excuses. He did drive to our home to return the deposit in an attempt to resolve the conflict. But again, he was almost half hour late even when being asked to be more respectful of timings and our baby situation. Would it not have been for absolute atrocious communication, unreliable scheduling/logistics - even that within their own control - and poor leadership to keep staff and clients informed of pertinent developments, maybe this would have been a good business to deal with. Unfortunately, the recommendation above remains. Stay away, as there are plenty of choices in Ottawa very worth the extra little $.

Not sure if they exist or declared bankruptcy!!They don’t answer emails , office calls even call/text to Aleksander (Alex) the owner!!!We signed our contact back in march 2022 … after all kind of struggle they came and install few windows in December 2022they took full payment and took also down payment on remaining patio door, front door and a window …We expected as promised by mr Alex end of Feb 2023 !!!No answer to all our communications !!! Until this moment - April 20 , 2023Unfortunately this company leave us no choice than to submit a legal claim to the “small court claims of Ottawa”, in order to get back our balance deposit money of the remaining order patio , front door and window.That very insulting/ low way to deal with customers !!!!

After over 15 months of waiting, this company and the owner, Alex Bluestone, was unable to deliver on my windows. I paid a deposit back in December 2021 and there has been no delivery date ever provided. Waiting anymore than 15 months is unreasonable given other companies can deliver within this timeframe. Very little effort was made by the company to respond to my emails and telephone message. No email response when I requested a return of my original deposit. Tried calling company and voicemail says it’s “closed for restructuring”. The company is also no longer in good standing with the BBB as of the date of this review. Don’t go with this company unless you are willing to go through a nightmare and more paper work to pursue legal recourse.
