Very nice view but you have to walk quite a bit to reach the water. Just an open field without any infrastructure. It could be made more convivial. It feels a bit desolate.

I would not called this place a beach for the sample reason that there is no sand....or water. Unless you are willing to walk 300 metres in the swamp (tall grass and mud) then maybe you can get your feet soak.Park itself isn't maintained other than some random squares here and there that it seemed the grass has been cut this year. If I were living right by it I could say it is worth to bring the dog to run around, other than that if you have to drive more than 15 mins I would recommend somewhere else to go

This park is the best, for astronomy it's only of the only places that you can see the milky way which isn't too much of a long drive away from the city. This is the place to go with your telescope to see galaxies and shooting stars and so on.

A big (well kept) piece of lawn with very little trees. But very convenient if you want to stretch your legs or lay down a bit.

Great park. On the river. Picnic tables and lots of room for the dog to run around . Canine obstacle course across the street as well.

Thompson Park seems like it isn't used much anymore. There are a few old seemingly abandoned soccer fields with several pairs of goals without the netting. The grass is usually kept around medium length but you can still kick a ball around in it. There is plenty of room to run around with the kids. There is a section beside the water where you can have a BBQ and just sit and enjoy the view. Seems to be used most times I've been there.
