This review is mostly about the used film-camera department, because that is where I buy the most things. I have only made one digital purchase (thanks, Mike!), which was also a good experience.The staff at Beau Photo's vintage camera counter work hard to keep me coming back as a customer. I started visiting the store about ten years ago. By now they know what kind of old cameras I like. Sometimes they even email me to tell me that an interesting old camera has arrived, so I can go see it.Nicole's enthusiasm for all old cameras, and Meghan's friendly, ready helpfulness, have been mainstays over the years. As other staff have come and gone from the analogue department, Beau seems to have hand-picked each of them for friendliness and enthusiasm. At first I was shy to even enter the store, because I thought it was for professionals, not for hobbyists like me. Beau's welcoming staff have made this one of my favourite stores.I also work in retail. I appreciate how much energy the staff put into making each visit to the store a good visit, and I look forward to the next visit. Plus, I get to buy some cool old lenses and cameras once in a while. This department feels like a kind of community hub for old camera enthusiasts. You at Beau have built up a destination store here in Vancouver.Part of what makes this store so good is the no-B.S., unfiltered, straightforward communication. It is friendliness with real opinions, and that builds trust.And thank you to Mike in digital who sold me the Z5! I appreciate your help and advice!

I’ve bought practically all my gear from them, and I’ve never had a problem they couldn’t solve. Furthermore, their selection is always spectacular, and I’m consistently surprised every time I visit. One of my favourite photography shops in Vancouver. Great for professional rentals. I have bought several poles and mounts for my studio lights and background. It’s also an amazing camera museum!
