California Closets - Burnaby

I turn to California Closets because my contractor unprofessional ethics. I am TOTALLY blown away by California Closet professionalism from start to finish. I was profound guided by Matthew Jolley, Designer and follow up with the staff in the Burnaby showroom. The installer was on time and efficient. He was not rushed He demostrated functionality and explained the warranty. To top it off he clean after. I did not have to pick up a broom or vacuum etc. (This usually don't happen)CALIFORNIA CLOSET WAS THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE AND IT'S MONEY WELL SPEND. I strongly, highly recommended to anybody who is in a market in designing their closet or anywhere in your house. You will NEVER regret it.

I went with California Closets as a recommendation from a friend and wow I am glad I went ahead with it! Nothing but perfection from this company! Viewing the 3D render to the physical finished piece was beyond what I could ask for! The finished piece was so well done and finished quickly as well! Afton was so creative and helpful designing areas for us that we had no idea were even possible! The designs are modern and both beautiful and functional. The team installed all three rooms very quickly and even came back to make some adjustments we requested. The quality of the cabinets and the craftsmanship are great. We are already planning our next dream projects!

Worked with Remigio Amieva, who was is very creative and detail-oriented, without losing sight of overall objectives. The installers were on-time and considerate. The process was relatively painless.

Great experience from start to finish (design and install). Worked within our budget and was installed in a timely manner. Everyone from California closets was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Remi designed out media center, built in desk and floor to ceiling storage unit to our preferences. We will use this company again when we are ready to focus on our main floor.

We visited the California Closets on February 1st, 2018. The showroom makes a very good impression and we had a tour of the factory behind which is also very clean and well organized. We bumped into the owner, Stephan, who also made a good first impression. So we made an appointment for an at home consultation for February 9th. The date was written into the computer and they wrote it down for us too.Later the evening before February 9th we received a 'confirmation email' with a different appointment date on it; February 15th (minus one star). The date of February 9th was not mentioned. It was odd to receive a confirmation email 'hours' before the original appointment, and a week after we visited the showroom. Why not just email the confirmation 1 day after visiting? So I emailed the owner, Stephan, about this, but he never bothered to reply to me (minus one star). This whole episode wasted a week.Finally, we got the in home consultation with a quote of CAD $4,515. In hindsight, counting up the pieces of wood / mostly chip board used in the finished product then we have the following: 12 vertical, 24 horizontal, 5 door fronts, and 2 drawers at 3 piecs of wood per drawer. Gives a grand total of 47 pieces of wood / chipboard. Just to give you an idea then CAD $4,515 / 47 = CAD $96 per piece of wood / chipboard. Of course, there's also hardware and labour. But you can already see that this is on the expensive side (minus star). As a comparison, a much thicker White Melamine Particleboard from home depot costs under CAD $20.The amount of legal small print on the quote was surprisingly high and the unfairness of it in favour of California Closets was also surprising. For example, Cancellation after 3 calendar days - 35% cancellation charge will apply." or "Once drawings have been signed by the Customer

From initial booking, to consult to installation I was impressed at all times. Every encounter with CC was professional, prompt, polite and really just perfect. We couldn’t be happier with the entire experience; a rarity these days, it seems. Kudos to the team that helped us.

Steph Pollard and Narek (installer) are fantastic people to work with. When I had my meeting with Steph at my condo for the first time, I had a good feeling about her sense of style and taste. She dressed really well and she was a great communicator. Steph is very detailed, knowledgeable and experienced in her design expertise, she knew exactly what I wanted and she offered many great advices as well. Narek on the other hand was an awesome installer. He was very good at his craft in the installation process. He didn't left any mess for me to clean afterward he was very efficient and methodical. He was very punctual and super organized. I wish every contractor worker is like Narek. I am super happy with the end result because I had two great professionals who made it perfect from the start to the end. I am grateful that the process and experience was not stressful and every dollars I invest in the closet was worth it! It was not cheap but you get what you pay for which is quality and satisfaction. There are so many bad contractors in this industry and I am glad that California Closets is not one of them. They are absolute great people to work with and they delivered the right product for my needs and surpass my expectation. I would highly and strongly recommend these folks to anyone if you don't want any drama or crazy contractor to deal with in your life!

We got a custom media unit and had a great experience. The designer came to our home and was extremely patient, drawing out our entire living room plan and where the media unit would go. We discussed many options and he was very professional. Once the unit was ready, the team that came to install it was also very professional. Overall, their entire team made the whole experience very easy. The quality of the media unit is really good and we couldn’t be happier with it. Would definitely recommend California Closets.
