I've seen some negative reviews on here and I'm honestly quite shocked. All my experiences have been fantastic. Very nice and efficient staff. Gets done in a timely manner. Never had an issue and been going there for a few years now.I specifically remember when I brought in a blazer and the inside was all torn up but I didn't care, when I got it back they sewed it all up even when I didn't ask for it ! Looked NEW !I will continue to come here.

DO NOT, DO NOT take your pure wool to this dry cleaner (and their branches). Our pure wool blanket was shrunk 3 inches and 13 inches, width and length respectively. We know the exact damages because the blanket has a custom made protective cover. A sweater was also shrunk 2 sizes and need to be stretched.The manager falsely claimed that the blanket was the right size even looking at the wrinkled edges around the blanket. She also told me that they put a big load into a computer controlled machine. How can you treat different materials in one load?Many factors may contribute to this mishap: human errors, cleaning agents, machine settings.The owner's attitude was ugly to say the least. He claimed that his stores have spotless records for 25 years. But a staff a few days earlier told me that such mishaps happened before and were compensated for. The owner told us to go back to the store for compensation because that's where problems were.I figure that's how the owner keeps his spotless records. One star is one too many to give.

Removed water stains from my hand embroidered drapes very nicely. My experience with the manager was pleasant. Three stars because one of the staff members was really unnecessarily unkind to me, but maybe a p/t job she isn't to concerned about.My experience wasn't as bad as some of the other reviews. I took many sweaters and jackets there that came back clean and without any damage.

I wish I had read the previous reviews before taking my dress to this place.The only reason I feel obliged to write this review is because the owner, Norm, told me that if I wrote a poor review (even if it’s honest) he would get his lawyers involved. I don’t appreciate the feeling of being muzzled or feeling like I can’t express a truthful public review.I’ve just noticed other people’s reviews before posting this one myself and am relieved to know that I’m not the only one who has had a very poor experience with the Manager and Owner at Dalhousie Fine Dry Cleaners. It actually surprised me to see these reviews since the owner said to me over the phone “we’ve been in business 25 years and have never had a bad review”. False.I brought a $250 bridesmaids gown to be dry cleaned. There was a small piece of material that had fallen out of one of the layers, but it only needed to be sewn back in to be good as new so that I could re-wear the dress to a wedding this weekend. When I dropped the dress off at the dry cleaners the employee and myself both looked over the dress for any other damage but could not identify anything else wrong with it. Sadly when I went to pick up the dress there were 3 nickel sized holes and some smaller tears on the back of the dress. I called to speak with the manager and explained the situation. She became silent and then immediately got her back up and told me that all they did was hang up the dress and that they aren’t responsible for any damage. I was very disappointed in the way she handled the situation and asked to speak with the owner.After a few weeks of phone tag I finally got in touch with the owner, Norm. His response and reaction was far worse than the Managers. One of the first things he said was ‘look, Sara, I don’t know what the argument is about, the damage is clearly cigarette burns, this is not our fault’ (my name is Christina and I was never arguing with you). He continued to say ‘this dress has obviously been through a party’. He completely denied that the damage was their fault. To their only benefit, they offered to reimburse me the money I had already paid for the dress to be dry cleaned. But the thought of going into that place again and dealing with such poor customer service gives me too much anxiety to even accept a $20 refund. An apology or a small considerate gesture would have settled things fine in my mind, instead all I received was blame and rudeness. I’m amazed this business is still running with Management like this.

I brought a shirt for dry cleaning and alterations, and was told I would hear back for pick up in 3 days. I never received a call and when I finally went in after a week, I found they never did the alterations and they told me that they wouldn’t do it now. I don’t recommend going to them for help with your clothes, I won’t be going back.

We had our bedspread cleaned. It was a terrible job, there was a glue like white substance all over the dark blue bedspread. The batting inside was not ironed flat. The pillow cases were all wrinkled and the small decor pillow was not the same shape as it was when we dropped it off. I will never use this cleaner again.

I have been using Dalhousie Fine Dry Cleaning services for years. I'm always quite happy with the results service is prompt, friendly and my garments are completed in a reasonable time or if I have a special request they can usually follow through. I enjoy the staff here as well as I'm always greeted with a smile. Parking is ample and free, great location and easy to get to!

Dishonest and not that great. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! Ripped off for a less then good job!I was quoted a $40 tailoring job and they wanted to charge me $84!!! When I explained the verbal quote I made when I dropped off the clothing they still refused to adjust the price. The sewing isn't even that great, with stitching going out of line.

Extremely poor customer service practices. I was quoted $40 to clean a duvet in early May and the service was good. I took a second duvet in to be cleaned the last week of May and was again verbally quoted $40 and told to pick the duvet Monday May 31st. Picking up the duvet May 31st I was charged $50. I asked them to honor the original $40 quote and was told prices increased over the weekend. If they had honored the original quote and then told me prices would increase in June, I would have been fine, but they have lost all my future business which is substantial. The duvets were for senior clients and with professional customer service practices, I would have directed a steady flow of business their way.
