Chartwell Hartford Retirement Residence

My dad has been a resident of the Hartford for the past year and a half. He first went in for some respite care and is now a permanent resident. The staff are incredibly kind, caring and compassionate and genuinely treat every resident like family. They have done so much to ensure everyone has stayed safe during this pandemic. The General Manager, Shelley Hamilton, always keeps us informed and is available for any questions at any time. It gives my family peace of mind to know that dad is so well taken care of.

The staff is welcoming and go out of their way to make residents and family feel welcome. The offer a range of activities for residents and go the extra mile to make it fun. Lots of laughter always heard when I visit. I am thankful for the Hartford.

The Chartwell Hartford is an amazing place for the residents. The staff is wonderful all helpful and always upbeat. They are all hard workers there to meet everyone’s needs. During the recent times they’ve been very supportive and went over and beyond the call of duty. Nothing but good things to say about this residence.

My 93 year old mother resided at Hartford for 4 years. She just recently moved to long-term care. What an amazing place! What an amazing staff! Always caring and attentive. My Mom has been a resident in the Hartford community since 2017. She always speaks highly of the kindness, care and responsiveness of the staff over the years, and of the good friends she has in the community. The Hartford is genuinely her home. Living at a distance from Morrisburg, it has been a great source of reassurance for me during the time of the pandemic to know that the Hartford has been so careful and consistent in their protocols, keeping everyone safe and healthy. As well, the creative efforts you have taken to make life as interesting as possible for residents during this time of restrictions is much appreciated. Thank you!

Each and every one of the staff at the Hartford in Morrisburg is wonderful. They are always so friendly, positive, caring and efficient. My mom has been there for several years and her experience there has been very positive. I am comforted knowing my mom is so well taken care of.

The Hartford is a really nice, small, friendly, retirement home.My mom is 91. She moved there in Oct 2020.She was living alone previously, and, in spite of Covid restrictions, has settled in very well. We think her physical and mental health has improved immensely.The staff in the Hartford are phenomenal and have been so helpful and supportive in helping us all to adapt.I highly recommend this establishment.

After one year at the The Hartford in Morrisburg, I have to say that I'm so thankful that we found this gem. It is a warm and inviting residence, and mom just loves her new life there. She has made many new friends who, in a very short time, feel like old friends. The staff are all such caring professionals, whose attentiveness to the needs of residents and ability to make them feel like family, has provided me with peace of mind and confidence that mom is well taken care of and treated with the utmost respect and care. Under the exceptional management of Shelley Hamilton, who is always ready to answer my questions and provide assistance in any way she can, everyone who works at the residence is an important part of my mom's daily life. Mom loves Shelley, Chantal at the front desk, and Chantal the nurse, Ray, Crystal, Natalie, Shawna, Wanda, Tracy, and so many others. She feels at home in her lovely studio apartment and in any of the meticulously well-kept and appointed common rooms in the residence. My mom enjoys participating in all of the activities that are organized for residents such as bingo, horse races, yoga, happy hour and a variety of musical events and other outings. Although some of these have been put on hold during these difficult times, the staff has been incredibly creative in trying to find ways to keep residents active and social while still maintaining an extremely safe environment that strictly adheres to all health advisories. We all want our parents to be well cared for and happy, and that's why I'm so glad I found this gem in the heart of Morrisburg!

Mom moved into the Hartford just a few months before the pandemic hit. It was a huge change from living alone in her home. The staff were incredible. I am so happy to know she is well taken care of. Mom constantly raves about the people and how kind and thoughtful they are. They are constantly looking for options to replace activities scrubbed by covid. I am always kept in the loop on health issues and feel that she is safe and happy. Thank-you so much for making her transition such a positive experience.
