On Saturday, September 7, 2013, I viewed the Boundary Bay foreshore at the foot of 64th Street in South Delta. I noted that virtually ALL of the logs had been removed. There are huge piles of logs next to the dike.In a June 13, 2013 memo to Gord Ruffo of PMV, Messrs. Brian Paterson and Jim Roberts wrote that the salt marsh restoration project" removal of logs would be done in an "environmentally sensitive manner".Elsewhere in the memo it refers to careful removal of excessive woody debris.You need to visit this site to view the destruction of this habitat for owls and other raptors.
