built my first pc and had trouble at one point since i knew close to nothing about computers. brought it here and i would give more than 5 stars if i could. they are extremely nice, knowledgeable, they told me i might need to buy an ssd and they were right. if you are going ANYWHERE in richmond for pc repair, this is where you have to go. cannot recommend them enough. even explained things to me in depth when i picked up the pc. 10/10

Thankfully they're still around for over 28 years. Let's hope they'll be around for another 28 years but I imagine they'll need to move again. They're as good as ever. Rates and prices are a bit higher than other stores, but you do get reliability which is rare these days.

I've been buying computer and parts from Powersonic for 17+ years. Benson and Carol are always accommodating , their price is affordable, the servicing you get is unbelievable. In a day and age where the service industry has become abysmal with poor service and high prices, its nice to know masters of their crafts like Benson will be around to get you what you need. If there's a way to do 10****s I would've done it :) This place is amazing. I got my data recovered plus a new harddrive for less than $250. A few months later the new harddrive glitched and they recovered my data onto another new drive free of charge. These people are amazing!

Excellent service , open and honest with pricing . He replaced my hard drive cleaned up all viruses and cleaned the entire laptop. Benson is very good at servicing and repairs . This is the second time I used his services and was very pleased and happy with his work . Will be going back when ever I need service or repairs . Also has low cost parts and accessories and is well stocked .. Excellent work Benson thank you !

The shop owners are extremely nice, knowledgeable and honest!I went there to purchase a 1TB Crucial SSD for my computer and they recommended a faster Western Digital SSD with newer technology AND they saved me $20 to boot!It's very rare to get this type of honest customer service without getting upsold.I'll be coming back again and recommending more of my family and friends.Thanks Powersonic!

Went in cause laptop broke down.They’re quite professional and did not try to sell me more service I don’t need.When I inquire about how much does it cost to reinstall Ubuntu on the not functioning laptop. They pointed out that I should have the ability to do it myself by formatting the hard drive and suggest me to do it first then go back to them if I can’t do.Unlike many other stores which would try to do more things for you and sell you as many services as possible. They focus on what I really needed.I believe that’s the most important in running a business. Not by selling the most you could to the customers but rather what the customers reallly needed based on the customers knowledge and skills.I would make them my go-to place until either of us no longer exist on the face of the planet. You should, too

Great mom & pop local shop that you don't find as much anymore. Very knowledgeable, friendly and fair pricing compared to the larger chain stores. I purchased some parts at the recommendation of the larger chain store but decided to take the parts to Power Sonic to assemble. They gave me really good advise, an accurate quote and the job was done within 2 days (larger chain store quoted 5x the wait time and higher cost too). Very happy with the result and will be returning for future businesses.

This will be the only place I go for repair (if I can't fix it myself) or computer parts. The owners are so helpful, friendly, honest and patient. This is so rare to find nowadays and I will avoid to buy anything from chains like Canada Computers or Memory Express to support an honest business.I had spent the weekend trying to fix my PC and bought a new motherboard thinking my current one had finally died after 6 years. When I couldn't get the motherboard to boot after bringing it home, I brought it back to see if it was maybe my CPU that was the issue.They immediately tested the motherboard while I was in the store and found out it was working fine and my issue was that I didn't seat my stock CPU properly. They even tested my old motherboard and after a quick reset of the CMOS, found out it was not broken at all and still worked fine. They offered to refund the motherboard I had bought because mine was still functional and working.Amazing service!

I brought my 2017 IMac in to get RAM installed because it was ridiculously slow, Benson quickly noticed that is was my hard drive that was the issue, he updated me with what he found and said that my HD was damaged with lots of bad sector. He recommended I upgrade to a Solid State HD. He completed the job on time. He offered to migrate the data but I chose to do it myself at home. I struggled a little but finally figured out how to do it with the Commend - Option - R keys to restore. Now, I beyond pleased how FAST my computer is running. I would highly recommend Powersonic to anyone looking for Mac and PC repair and upgrade. They are kind and know what they are doing. Thank you very much Benson and Carol!!!
