Budget Car Rental

We dealt with this place this week.The person behind the counter(Doug)charged /gouged my relatives as far as we’re concerned because he knew he could.No one else had any cars available.And when they questioned the reason for the high price he was very rude .(He knew he could rent the car to someone else )Car was returned after two days as we found another rental for half the price but my relatives were charged over $400 for 2 days.Taking advantage of the rental car availability and customers misfortune of not booking ahead is not the way to do business.Don’t recommend this place.

I usually never write reviews, but the service i received was horrible, and I felt the need to write one. The service at the counter was fine, we were renting a 2018 Jeep Renegade, only 9000km on it. We denied the collision insurance, which was the only insurance mentionned or offered. After 15mins of driving on the highway, getting into Shediac, NB, the engine started shaking, engine lights came on, etc. After calling Budget, they would first refuse to do anything because I did not get the Roadside Assistance Insurance". I was told to pay for the towing to bring the vehicle back to the rental location. And then I would have to rent another vehicle. I was also told I may be charged for the repairs that had to be done to the vehicle. After 1h back and forth between operators

I wouldn’t rent from here again. A few days before I picked up my car I needed to shorten my reservation significantly. I had booked with Budget online and I knew it said that I could not make changes to my reservation once I picked up the car so I tried to do it ahead of time. Their website was very tricky and so I called the Main st. Location to see if they could help. The agent working told me that she knew the site was difficult but that she would just fix it when I came in. I asked her if she was sure because my contract said I am supposed to make changes ahead of time, not when I have already picked up the car. She assured me it would be ok, and I trusted her. When I went in I found out that she could not shorten it and so I had to pay the full price of the reservation which added up to hundreds of dollars. I did eventually try to talk to the manager to see if he could help, but he first didn’t return my phone call and when I went into the store he -rudely- told me that you can’t make changes to prepaid reservations even though my contract only said I could not make changes once I picked up the car. If I had known all of this when I called the first time I would have just cancelled the entire reservation (which I could do for a fee of $50 before picking up the car), but since the Budget representative told me she could fix it, I just trusted her because she was representing the company. Anyway, she was at least nice, but the manager was not and did nothing to compensate us, so we aren’t going to rent from there or any affiliated companies again. I have never written a negative review in my life and even though I know customer service is tough right now, I really felt that this was wrong.

We had a reservation for 1pm pick up, no one was at the location (should be open until 5 pm) and we had to walk down a few blocks with all our luggage to a hotel and sit in the lobby to try and locate someone. We called the 1-800 Budget number and after 27 minutes on the phone, 6 different transfers to different representatives the call was disconnected.......horrific service.

Horrible service and probably more expensive than anywhere else and absolutely dirty, the car they gave me was dirty the cup holder's were not washed i ended up washing them myself, and the window for the sunroof was almost black in some places probably had never been wash. when i advised the person at the counter he said oh well and shrug it off as being nothing even after i showed him the window. never offers a discount or even to clean it or even said sorry. will never go back again and advised people not to go.

Rented a car this past long weekend to see what is around the Moncton area. Greeted by a couple of very friendly guys working the counter. Had no problem answering a couple questions and offering some good places to check out. Thanks a lot guys! Made for a fun weekend. Will definitely come back next month for another rental! Cheers.

Great customer experience picking up my rental this morning at 515 main in Moncton. It was a quick pickup and the guy working answered all my questions quickly and I got a great vehicle.

We’ve had one of the worst experiences with one of the manager lying about the policies of the enterprise he screamed at one of the clients before us thats definitely not how you treat the clients at all he was getting angry with us and telling us that he dont care im totally unsatisfied
