The Ginger Group is a great salon! Laura has been my stylist for many years now and she always does a fantastic job! The entire staff is very friendly and professional. I highly recommend the Ginger Group!

Laura has been doing my hair at Ginger Group for the past 3 1/2 years and I’ve never been disappointed! She is friendly and a perfectionist, which is definitely what you want in a hair dresser. ;) She helps me to figure out what I want and I’m always happy when I leave!

The Ginger Group is more than just your typical hair salon - they're a family of talented indivuals with a true passion for hair and client satisfaction. Every time I visit I am surrounded by a positive, up-beat and professional energy. Claudia has been my stylist for a while now and despite my thinning hair, I leave the salon feeling very satisfied with my fresh new cut and without a doubt, a smile on my face. My friend got her hair cut here by a stylist named Larry. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.1) Upon greeting my friend, Larry commented on her micro bangs, a style that’s very popular with our generation (Gen Z). He said “we’re you drunk when you did that to your hair?”2) Larry obviously doesn’t know trending styles.3) Larry cut off approx. 6-8 inches of hair upon telling him that she wanted to KEEP the length. She told him after the FIRST snip that it was “a lot of hair” and he said “just sit there”.4) The way he communicated with my friend sounded like he was drinking on the job, as it was extremely disrespectful and he was very disorganized.5) Larry did not dry or style her hair after cutting. She asked “so you’re not going to dry it or anything” and he said, “No. you can leave now.”6) My friends hair is now so sloppy and unprofessional that she hasn’t been to her professional workplace in 4 days. She has been in bed and it has triggered a depressive episode.In short: This is a salon for old people. No one younger than 26 should come here if you’re looking for something trending.

I have been a client at the Ginger Group for years and love coming back. Laura is amazing, she knows my hair and always gives great recommendations. All of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, they have great products, excellent seasonal decor, and always hot coffee.

It's pretty rare that I give a business a five star, but this little gem in the heart of Victoria deserves every one of them.I was fortunate enough to get a last-minute cancellation which is quite rare with senior stylist June. She is a fantastic communicator, who used to teach and it definitely shows. She was able to give me a great assessment, understand what I wanted, was very clear on pricing, timing and options. And she and the rest of the staff were all incredible.This felt like a hair appointment I'd had many years ago when the customer was the focus as opposed to the money or using customers as guinea pigs for Instagram accounts. Been there on both counts unfortunately.From the moment I walked in I was greeted with kindness and humor, immediately made at ease. Offered a beverage and told where the washroom was, she even brought me some magazines while I was waiting. And I know this may seem like a no-brainer, but trust me the last four salons I've visited this attention to detail was lacking. June is an expert stylist, she did a fantastic job with my hair, I got highlights and a partial color correction and it came out beautifully. It came out exactly how I have wanted for years, but that the last four places I've been to did not replicate.The salon is clean and modern, the stylists are talented and also aware of their timing, aware of their clients and doing all of that was a good nature and ability to obviously handle stress. I'm very fussy and clear about what I want and I got exactly that. I’ve been coming to the Ginger Group for at least 7 years and I love it! Janet Duncan is so great, and I always get a really good haircut from her. The atmosphere is friendly and the location is convenient. Highly recommended.

If I could give this place zero stars I would.Please don’t come here if you are looking for a professional experience. You’d probably be better off buying cheap shears on Amazon, watching a YouTube tutorial and doing it yourself slowly in a self haircut mirror.My friend recently came here for a haircut.Larry cut her hair, he was 20 minutes late.He consulted her in the hair wash chair, not the regular chair where you get your hair cut.He made her feel like he was better than her, didn’t seem to really care. It made her feel extremely uncomfortable.She had previous gotten her hair bleached blonde at a salon and it had been a while and her roots were showing.Larry said to her, “did you do that while drunk.” Commenting about her blonde hair.He also made rude comments about being drunk because she had micro bangs. (A trendy alternative GenZ style)He was supposed to keep the length of her hair, only cutting off 2-3 inches. He cut off 8 inches of her hair. Reassuring her that he was not cutting off that much hair.She realized what had been happening and her eyes were tearing up. Yet he continued to cut her hair with no compassion.After he finished, he did not even dry her hair or comb it. She left the salon with wet hair.She left the place crying and called me.I did not think it would be that bad. But she showed me in person and it was honestly so horrible. I have never seen such a bad haircut. There were parts of her hair that were above her ears (I’m assuming layers ?)Her length was all gone. It just looked like a mess. Nothing blended properly. Just looked like chunks missing here and there as if someone got a pair of scissors and cut chunks off as a prank.It was so noticeable since she has blonde hair and she was so upset. She had to dye her hair a darker colour just to make it less noticeable.She’s been so depressed and had missed work for a few days and been stuck in bed.She had beautiful hair that had taken 3 years to grow and it was all taken away in seconds.If you ever want to get a professional haircut, I suggest you do not go here. There are definitely much more talented hairdressers that have been cutting hair for a shorter amount of time than Larry has and they probably are more up to date on trending hairstyles.

Claudia, and the wonderful and talented staff at the Ginger Group, are always very friendly and professional. They always listen very well and achieve the style I desire, while providing a comfortable and warm environment. I have been a client of Claudia's and the Ginger Group's for 2 years and am very pleased to have her as my stylist! She always has me looking my best.

I just got my hair cut and styled by Stanley and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a salon. Stanley is very friendly, talented, knowledgeable and personable. He not only gave me a great hairstyle that I am in love but also gave me some great tips on how to care for my wavy/damaged hair. My hair looks amazing and feels so much healthier. The space is beautiful and clean. I love the Christmas decor! I definitely will be back. Thank you so much, Stanley and the Ginger Group!
