A very disappointing birthday lunch at this winery. We wanted to support local businesses after everything being shut down for so long but this was very poor service and a mediocre charcuterie. The topper was a flight of sparkling wines served in flutes ( not mini carafes) so my family had to sip from each other’s glasses! Never seen a flight of wine served that way, especially in Covid times. Will not be returning any time soon.

Restaurant is closed but cheese charcuterie plates and veggies available. Great setup!

Oldest winery, established in the 1950's by an Italian immigrant.Great atmosphere, original home with wrap around veranda overlooking the grape vines.

I called first to ask permission to bring my dog, Casper. Yes we can bring dog there. I got an excellent service there, I selected the charcuterie and cheeses plate, I had a try of each wine. The personal were awesome. Gave water to Casper and they where available to took pictures off me self and my dog with the nice countryside.

Not a big wine person but I've talked with the owners and they're great people, very nice people, and the views are incredible

The wines were okay at best but the service was painfully slow. It took them 45 mins for me to try 2/5 of the wines. We were seated outside and were absolutely forgotten about. There was another table behind us that had to keep calling the server over to service both their table and ours.

Great wine and friendly service. I'll be back at at some point. A bit of the beaten path but definitely worth the visit! The views are amazing.

Stopped in on Saturday on a drive from Victoria to Tofino for a wine tasting and lunch. This is the oldest vineyard in the region, and as I'm sure there is some prestige in this, I was surprised that I didn't enjoy the wines.A tasting is $5, and we received four wines to taste - lighter pours and quantities than the other wineries we visited in Cowichan. The sparkling Brut could have been a great sip - sadly, it had been sitting on the bench for too long and was warm. The other white and two reds were nice, but nothing overly exciting. We ate at the restaurant, Vineteca,, which I was told is a local chef who rents the space from the vineyard. A great idea, but poorly executed. A 50 minute wait, for sub-par pasta. You can read a full Google review of the restaurant at Vinoteca Restaurants Google Page.

If you are a true wine connoisseur you'll appreciate the cowichan valley. However this family was the original stem that made the entire cowichan wine industry even possible.Germans are known for beer.Russians are known for vodka.Italians are known for wine.Zanatta IS authentic Italian. You might not be able to put your finger on it- but they are definately doing it right!
