Atwater Brewery & Tap House

Looked for a place to eat during lunch break, bumped into Atwater Brewery since on the clock I couldn't partake in any of their adult beverages but I did partake in the Chicken Tender platter with Mango Habanero and Garlic Parmesan sauce. The mango habanero had a good kick to it nothing crazy just good and the garlic parmesan was ok. Nice little place, night life seems like it would be awesome. Might go back at night to check it out.

Clean. Wonderful staff. Excellent but expensive food. Strange, perhaps, beer such as blueberry and vanilla. Other beer is great. Overall a great venue. Wonderful rooftop seating. A great place on Joesph Compau downtown Detroit. The dark bitter beers are the best. Tour the city after dinner.

First time coming here. We were seeing a concert nearby. We arrived at 6pm and had to wait in line to order food and drinks at the bar. Took about 30 mins of waiting in line and then another hour for food to come out. Food was just okay, not very hot, and beer wasn’t very cold. Want another beer? Well if you’re not sitting at the bar then get back in line. Atmosphere is good but won’t be coming back. Also very expensive.

Love this place so much!! Their vanilla Java porter is one of my all time favorite beers! And even tho I don’t drink a ton of beer anymore, I always get some vanilla Java porter when I visit home. It’s just the perfect beer. They also have a great pub set up- got lunch this time and was blown away by the food. The only bummer thing was when we ordered a second of the Atwater dogs (because the first was so good), the second one came out overdone and a little disappointing (pretzel bun was very dark and hard). Otherwise loved the food. I’d choose fries over chips as the side but enjoyed the Atwater dog for sure and the Pierogi’s. Def try the porter on nitro too! Nice rooftop space but no beers on tap up there :/ only cans but pretty views (can see the water a little bit from the rooftop). Also have tables out on the sidewalk and into the street for nice weather days. And they have their own parking lot adjacent which is nice so you don’t have to try to find street parking.

Found Atwater in walking distance of my hotel. Great atmosphere, friendly service, outdoor patio. Their Strawberry Dirty Blonde was different, but very good!

Good beer selection with many cocktail options for those who don't care for beer. The food menu has limited bar bites and salads, but we found the food to be just ok. I think we should have tried the huge hot pretzel. Large open space inside with comfortable seating, including some high tops at the windows. Cool rooftop seating with a separate bar, and more outdoor seating out front. Park for free in their lot nextdoor, and check out the outdoor area covered with artificial grass.

Beers are good and the food is too. Prices are decent as well. Love coming here in the summer and sitting outside or on the rooftop patio.

Atwater is such a special place with fantastic beer and amazing service from Chris and his team. We were thrilled to bring a Detroit History Tours group to Atwater and from every planning stage through excellent settings, flight variety all 50 of our participants were completely satisfied! We can't wait to return for more tours in the coming months!
