The Math Guru

I signed my daughter up for tutoring sessions and she absolutely loved them! All her hard work reflected on her school tests and assignments. Her favourite tutor was Jacky, who helped explain science concepts very clearly and thoroughly. Thank you Math Guru and Jacky!

I booked a few sessions with TMG for my daughter who wanted some extra help as she prepared for her first math exam. She has been really worried and stressed about it. As she walked into TMG for her first session, she was very nervous. By the time I picked her up, she was feeling confident and told me that she already felt better about her exam. She said that the hour felt like 15 minutes and that she feels ready. She's excited for her next two sessions. Shout out to Tommy for the awesome session, Jade who made her feel so welcome immediately, and of course to Vanessa! I highly recommend TMG for their incredibly thoughtful approach to making people feel comfortable and confident with math - and of course, for their immaculate vibes.

Vanessa, the owner of the Math Guru, and her whole team are the most lovely people. I was struggling immensely in grade 11 math and going to the math guru not only helped me do better but also made me find the joy in math. It's a beautiful, calming environment with the most wonderful tutors. I highly recommend going here as it is not only an amazing place to learn math but you also get to meet such an amazing community of people.

The people here are lovely and they hosted the most perfect exam preparation party! It made studying a lot less stressful.

Over the past 3 1/2 years we have had wonderful experiences with Math Guru. They took my son who hated math and had no confidence to a person who graduated an Ontario Scholar with 85% in grade 12 maths! They are flexible, knowledgeable and completely supportive and I recommend them 100%!

After 4 years of being at the Math Guru, I can still say to this day that it has been a comfortable, and great place to work on my skills as a student. There are plenty of reviews here describing how beautiful of a learning environment this is, so I’m going to skip out trying to show directly how amazing of a place it is for students since there are more than enough of those to convince you that its a great place.As a tutor (a person who works for TMG), my employer is a dream come true—far beyond what I’ve imagined: clear, concise, consistent, and most of all caring. How everyone that works here checks-in on, discusses the most far-fetched topics for fun, and just be attentive to each other is something that many other workplaces lack. One of the defining features about TMG is the community and environment it fosters for the students. Truthfully, I can say that it is the same for the tutors as well. Here, we have a group of people, from different walks of life, come together to appreciate life’s complexities and work toward helping others learn to get through them (Math and Science being some of those complexities lol)!For sure the inspiring way that tutors/mentors here are treated propagates to the learning of the students as well; the same wholistic approach Vanessa and TMG takes with managing tutors, is the positivity we as tutors carry on toward the learners. I’ve tutored many times before, but for this reason, here I am able to connect with students better, thereby increasing effectiveness of our sessions. It makes the experience on BOTH sides of the table just so much better. To know that I am actually getting through to the learners feels so nice.Evidently, our founder Vanessa took time to not only make this a perfect place for learners, but for tutors/mentors as well. It goes to show how much care and effort she has put into building this place with the purest of intentions. We used Math Guru this last year and had a terrific experience the entire year. From the initial assessment to working with admin and tutors, Math Guru was very professional and always provided an amazing service. The tutors were knowledgeable, friendly, and explained things clearly. I highly recommend their services for anyone that wants to see their child improve their math skills and enjoy the process along the way!
