Worst doctor ever! I had bunions from the time I was a teenager and I was afraid to have surgery and get them fixed but I couldn’t stand the discomfort so when I turned 50 I promised myself I would be brave and get the surgery. I was referred to Dr.Di Silvestro and had my first surgery in October 2012, that surgery was not successful and had a second surgery in October 2013 and that surgery was not successful either and in my follow up appointment he said “there’s nothing more I can do for you” and left me deformed and in more pain than before my bunion surgery. Before the first surgery I only had pain in my bunion and now I have pain throughout both feet, my toes aren’t straight and cross over the other toes and my tendons are severed in most toes and walking is extremely painful. Stay away from this doctor because if your problem doesn’t improve he’ll just leave you like that. I would never recommend this doctor!

Excellent doctor. I am so happy Dr Di Silvestro was my surgeon. I never thought my foot was going to look as good as it does. Difficult recovery at the beginning, but that was expected. Dr Di Silvestro and his staff were very professional and kind.

Had a bunion removed in Nov. 2018. Surgery & aftercare went as explained. And I feel great ! Dr. Di Silvestro is a caring professional and competent surgeon with lots of experience. Highly recommended

Dr DiSilvestro is probably an excellent orthopedic surgeon but his post operative patient care is questionable.It is uncertain why Dr DiSilvestro is deficient in this regard but the record speaks for itself.He took on another Doctors patients while the doctor was on vacation. He failed to properly attend to a hip replacement patient’s distress and the patient died. He was disciplined by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario in that he had to appear for an ‘in person’ caution’ and write a ‘report’ on postoperative bowel obstruction and Ogilvie’s syndrome. The fact that a surgeon with his experience was required to report on such a ‘basic’ matter speaks volumes!He performed ankle fusion surgery on me (I was unaware of his prior disciplinary history).I developed an infection following surgery and Infectious Disease (ID) doctors were involved in determining the type of infection. He dismissed ID physicians from further follow up.I developed a subsequent infection and had to have my leg amputated.The Ontario College of Physicians & Surgeons appears to believe there is merit in my complaint against him. It has taken a year with them so far!He will probably get another slap on the wrist!!Follow up;It took 17 months for the Ontario College to find that there was no merit in my complaint. Apparently Dr. DiSilvestro is qualified to do everything?By the way, he has had 4 complaints against him, only disciplined when the patient died!
