Great selection of high quality cheeses for a fair price. The cheeseman is very knowledgeable about cheese so ask for recommendations.

Cheese use to be good there, but twice in a raw I tried to buy some fourme d’Ambert, which is supposed to be a very sweet blue cheese, from France where I am from. The one that I bought there the last two times were extremely strong stronger than Roquefort stayed in your mouth for very long time… no doubt than the cheese is way past the due date (also not white anymore but kinda brown) I was even mor disappointed when I returned it and the guy said that the cheese is good it’s the way it’s supposed to be !!!!!!!! Yet factory sent it to him that way … obviously he don’t know this cheese ! It’s the one reason why it’s my favourite cheese for its sweetness !Not my fault customer if the cheese have stayed in duty for weeks or any other reason. It’s unfair to make the clients pay for that. I won’t come back anymore to this shop and go to ‘les amis du fromage’ even if I have to do few extra kilometres at least the quality is controlled there.

Thank you Doug and Laura for your incredible service, selection and generosity this holiday season! Your personal touch in making a platter of exceptional Swiss cheeses for my 89 year old father for Xmas absolutely made the holidays for him and for us. He is savoring each piece and will be needing another order very soon! We will see you in the new year!

Super friendly people and fabulous prices. Takes a European attitude towards lines--if you're in a rush, don't be. The owner and his staff will be happy to serve every customer as if that customer is their last so just sit back and enjoy overhearing the conversation. Best place in British Columbia if not beyond for cheese.

Doug at Cheese Man helped me choose and assemble my cheese wheel wedding cake! He let me sample all sorts of different cheeses and suggested the best options for size, texture, dimension and overall look. The result? Priceless. Thank you!! PS the cheese was amazing.

Great cheese, and great advice about cheese, at a good price.This place has its downsides. Cash only, no phones allowed (and 4 signs saying so in a 10'x15' shop!), and I had to wait in line for half an hour despite only having 2 people ahead of me when I got in, while he casually chatted with the others.To a degree these downsides" are also the flipside of the positives.. so I won't deduct any points for them

I have been going to this place for a long time. Even well before Douglas took it over. Doug in a charming person to deal with and he certainly knows his cheese. Both the assortment and the prices are good and I have recommended them to a number of my friends, as I do here.
