Big Fix Grassroots Cat Rescue

We had our senior cat fixed through this organization and the compassion and love that my cat was shown was amazing. He had never been to a vet, in a cat carrier or away from us before. This was a big deal for us. She contacted us and kept us in the loop throughout the whole process to ease our mind . The house was well-kept and you could tell that she took great pride in her home and the well-being of any cat in her care. I have and will continue to refer people to this organization as you won't find a more kind, caring and loving place to bring your fur-baby.

Adopted our last rescue from Big Fix...they are the kindest most caring people I have ever met. Aurora is a joy to our lives. If you think getting a free" kitten is the way to go...think again...compare the costs! You will get a healthy

The owner and staff are a great asset to our community. TNR is offered along with spay/ neuter clinics twice a week...on Tuesday and Wednesday. When you adopt a kitten or cat from Kate the owner, you are not only getting a great pet you are getting a family member. She stands by her adoptions and is very pleasant to work with. Drop offs of bleach for cleaning, pet foods and rags are encouraged. Also donations of cash to keep this rescue going.

This is a very needed Rescue in this area. Kate goes above and beyond for the unwanted kitties that pass through her home. Not only are they fed, watered, given comfort, vetted and loved but Kate and her volunteers find wonderful homes for these kitties so they're not on the streets, in traffic or left in parking lots or barns. If you're looking for a place to donate this would be the place. Every little bit helps. It takes a village... Spay and Neuter your cats.

My 14 year old daughter worked corn detassling last summer, it was a short season for her but she made roughly $650, she wanted her own cat & we just happened to know someone whose cat had, had 3 kittens & she just fell IN LOVE with Mr. Griffin.She knew if she just asked for one she wouldn't get one as we already had a couple cats & that was enough. She got her sister & cousin to help her make a list of pros & cons of adding another pet.She would buy the extra litter box needed for adding another cat, she would buy his toys AND most of all she would pay for his neutered when he was of age.Needless to say, we had to support the responsibility she was showing & allowed her, her own cat.She held onto $200 for 7 months so she could afford Griffins neuter. We got Griffin neutered at the beginning of February this year through this rescues VERY affordable spay/neuter program & my daughter was able to pay for it herself & later go out to buy him more toys for being such a good boy..I love that, a program like this exists, leaves little excuse as to why one can't spay/neuter their felines.

One if the best things I've ever done was adopt a rescue kitty from Big Fix! There fees are beyond reasonable and all these babies are vetted and we'll loved!

Kate has now giving me the honour of adopting 2 cats from her rescue. She goes above and beyond for the care that she provides for the cats. And also picks fantastic foster homes for the cats that she doesn’t personally foster. I’m from the Niagara region and I drive to Chatham to adopt from this rescue due to the fantastic treatment of the kitties and what she does for the feral cats for the area too. The adoption fee is also a fair price especially since they are fully vetted and neutered/spayed as well. The rescue gives an accurate description of each cat so you know exactly what type of personality the cat your adopting has!I also appreciate that the rescue makes you sign a waiver promising to not declaw the cats. I have been involved with the Big Fix for about 5 years. Kate runs the rescue out if her private residence. Never have I gone to Kate's and had a smell of any kind.. All cats/kittens are fostered out and can be seen by appointment only.I can not imagine leaving a negative review because an appointment is needed to view adoptable cats and kittens. Kate is clean, professional and courtious .

I got my big love bug Munster through this rescue and it was the most professional and easy experience. All I had to do was contact Kate to make an appointment to come see a little dude I had my eyes on. She was very kind and professional and she keeps an open contact should you have any concerns or questions during and after the adoption. I love that she always wants updates on all the babies she’s rescued herself and with her friends and volunteers. Absolute best rescue to find a furever friend!
