We tried Born and Raised for the first time, needless to say we were blown away by this experience. Everything from the drinks, the service, the appetizers, to the main and dessert was phenomenal. The server was great, the restaurant atmosphere was dark yet warm and very modern. We had the oysters and spicy Brussels for our appetizer and they were amazing. I would highly recommend you try this place if you are in the Hamilton area or if you are exploring the downtown scene.

Amazing restaurant! My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. The best oysters we've ever had and perfectly seared scallops. Everything was amazing. We will definitely be back

Food is great - but wait times are brutal.Here’s a detailed breakdown of our evening:We were a group of 3 on a Friday night with a reservation at 9pm.We were only seated at 9:30. No one apologized for the wait, and there was no room to grab a drink at the bar to help pass the time. Just awkwardly crammed in the entrance.The hostess never made eye contact or said any words. She put menus down on a table and walked away. We assumed that’s where she wanted us to be seated.Appetizer came at 10pm and mains came at 10:55pm. It’s was really long.When are waiter was present, he was great. But everything seemed slow and disorganized.We experienced similar experience summer 2021 but attributed it to the pandemic. Sadly, the issue the deterred us from returning sooner is still ongoing.This is very unfortunate because the food is really delicious.

We went for a private dinner party on Saturday . The food was excellent , everything was tasty and very well prepared. One of the best steaks I have ever eaten.The staff were extremely pleasant and very accommodating. Thank you born and raised for a great dining experience

Smash burger and truffle fries are the ‘go to’! I’ll be back for the wood oven pizza, raving reviews from friends.Can’t wait to return and enjoy the menu. Peroni is a great drink to start with.

I really wanted this to be a great food experience as I believe Hamilton can have a great food scene. I was very curious and excited to go. It started out great, cocktails were delicious and excellent. The appetizers were really good, the Brussel sprout, the oyster, the burrata and chicken taco were great. Pepperoni pizza was great. Well, the mains were weak, the steaks needed flavour. the gnocchi their signature dish was soupy as one can see from the picture and also needed more flavour. Maybe it was an off night but I was disappointed in the mains. The service although friendly was very slow, so slow that we skipped desert to get home. I hope Born&Raised can step it up. Will I go back?? yes I give it another try.

Unassuming spot, good place to take friends. The food here is tasty, very much enjoy the pizza and tiramisu, which are both light and easy to devour. They have a large pizza oven and product Neapolitan style with the nice char on the crust.Oysters here are fresh and delicious, cocktail menu could be better, staff is attentive.Always busy on the weekend so book a reservation. Would recommend, one of the best spots of James St North in my opinion.
