Residence and Conference Centre - Kamloops

I had terrible experience coming to this property. I wish I wouldn't had selected this property. I thought I was selecting the real residence inn hotel instead of just looking at the word residence not paying attention (my mistake). It was not a hotel rather a student dormitory. Since the students are off during summer break. They use this facility as a hotel. The place was smelly.But I made that mistake in the first place went ahead and booked the room. I got there at 2 am in the morning after driving for almost 8 hours. I was tired. I went to the front desk and first thing to my surprise I heard was. Sorry you are not booked at this hotel we don't show any active reservation for you. I showed the agent my text and email confirmation. But she refused acknowledging it saying this information is not showing in our portal" I will not be able honor it. She asked me to contact the third party expedia customer service to sort it out. I contacted the third party and their agent tried to convince her also that this is a legitimate booking and she should proceed giving me the room. She refused saying it is not in my "portal". I will not approve it. She demanded money for booking at a new room directly with her at a higher price. I requested her to match the price which she declined saying I don't have any authority. If you want take it or leave it. I was not happy hearing this response back. I was not in a position to switch to a different place at 2 am in the morning. So I was forced to book a new reservation at their demand. When we went to the room the sink was not working. I went downstairs to report about it asking to switch the room. Now the front desk person became different she offered me to switch the room and demanded more money to switch me to a different bigger room. This was absurd. She was not budging at all considering all the hassle I went through. I ended up paying extra charge to avoid embarrassment. Finally we were in the room. Later in the morning we went to check out. The new front desk person told me that now they are seeing the original booking I made through expedia. I asked her to refund the money I paid at the hotel and use the money paid through third party. She refused saying since we switched to a new room and paid higher price so they are not a match

Quiet , elevator ,free parking.A small apartment with two bedrooms.Had Large frig & microwave a kitchenette. Provided with dinner. Which was nice.Breakfast available for reasonable fee. Didn't stay for breakfast. Dinner was delicious. Don't know if this is normally available or it was a special occasion. Good location.Ssw a lovely sunrise' over looking the river below. Family friendly. Reasonable rates.

Awful. Bed is super uncomfortable. Double size not queen. Like practically camping. Mega-hard. Bring your foam mattress topper. No living room area. Only stay if you have no other cheap choices. Clean. Good for families who want separate bedrooms. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 1 shower, no bath with modest kitchen" --- basically a microwave and fridge. Convenient

We have stayed here in the past so thought let's try it again many years later. The style of the rooms is still good although I phoned up twice from home before we checked in to confirm that yes we will have a room on the city side" of the building (much better views on that side). When we checked in we were told nope.........you have a view of the hill in behind the building......with a front desk staff face that said......tough so sad........next. Please do not promise what you cannot deliver! The beds are hard

We are already not happy with the place when it is only hours left before we reach there. Breakfast is not included, it is okay. We understand that as we checked the website and booked. What follows is;But, One person said EV parking is available during the stay and they can arrange it for us. All of a sudden, someone else messaged me, they don't have EV charging in the place. But, there are a few available somewhere on-site. The next thing was they said there is a 40 minutes limit. Next thing is, they could at least have a coffee-maker/tea-maker with a few sachets in the room for the visitors who are on short overnight trips and need a quick freshening up. We assumed they might have this at the very minimum. But, they said, they do not have that too. I mean, room tea/coffee making facility is standard everywhere in my previous experiences wherever I stayed. This is the first time I am hearing they do not have it. Now I cannot even cancel it without losing my money. Not worth the price we pay.Further reviews, I will add after the stay.

Air con wasn't working, and the fitness room didn't have free weights or a bench, but this is just a great value provided you have your own utensils, pots, plates. Location is fine. Check-in and booking were great even if a live booking agent is slow to respond. A good deal for a family.

Overall great value. Perched on a hill, the rooms I have stayed in (4 times now) have all enjoyed great views. Rooms have always been clean. Decor is simple and sterile as may be expected of a university residence. Workout room while not comprehensive is useful. The campus is enjoyable to walk around.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, and at the end I got a simple but nice room with an astonishing view on the city and the mountain. Nice surprise, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for (e.g. no coffee, old school room, noisy AC which you can turn off by using some tricks). Friendly staff!
