It's standing there over a hundred years in Allandale Heritage Neighborhood. My daughter had a piano rehearsal here many years ago.

This beautifully constructed old church built of stone harkens back to a day when they were built by master stone masons who took great pride in constructing structures that were elegant but could withstand the ravages of time there are many examples of such churches throughout Simcoe County and the surrounding area if you enjoy old world architecture maybe you might like to check them out!

I grew up at Burton Avenue United with my sister Cathy and my brother Scott .. my great grand parents were Catherine (nee Brown)and John Slater Brunton (they started Allandale Hardware) and they have a corner stone there at the church with their initials on it.. they are mentioned in the church history in the church's' website ..my grandmother Beatrice Catherine Jackson married Clarence Jackson in that church in 1923 with the reception across the road on Burton Avenue where her parents then lived .. she sat at the back corner pew on the left side for over fifty years and she was nicknamed the butter tart lady of Burton Avenue United as she lived only a few doors down at 52 Burton Avenue which was just across the street from the house she was born in .... my Great Uncle Lorne Edwin Brunton is the second name on the Barrie cenotaph as he died at the Battle of the Somme in 1916 .. my dad William Ribalkin(some called him Ray and he worked at Mansfield Denman General ) was a church elder and he was married to Marion Jackson (our mom was the secretary at King Edward Public School ) in 1949 and we lived on Holgate Street-- John Brunton, Clarence Jackson and my Dad were all Free Masons .. that church was the beginning of the foundation of my life.-- Yours truly John Ribalkin

There are many great programs/events for people of all ages, it makes it easy to become involved in this growing church community! I highly recommend you give this Burton Ave. a try!
